Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Hub plan

For those that dou t the hub plans, look at the new language on job postings.

Below is excerpt from a West Coast posting (you can clearly figure out the hubs by reading this and other job postings – they ARE using "hub" language now) I was told TX and AZ are ultimate hubs (e.g., Concord, CA will be phased out):

"The preferred location for this position is Irving, TX. Other locations that may be considered are Chandler, AZ; Concord, CA and other Wells Fargo hub locations."

Anyone check out the new policy added to the TeamMember Handbook under time away? A new policy has been introduced for ‘Relocation Time Away’. It ultimately outlines that Relocation Time Away is a new benefit that is separate from your PTO allotment and can be used for business-specific relocations or situations where military spouses are required to move due to a military station change.

Interesting benefit add. I’m going to guess they didn’t highlight this as a new benefit in the recent town hall because of impending announcements and it’ll be leveraged more for internal location strategy than it will be for military spouses.

It’ll be even more interesting to see what all comes to fruition with the location strategies being determined.

Wells is actively hiring in IT and security for telecommuter roles despite whatever "location strategy" is being discussed.

Please no more hub talk WF will layoff anyone and anywhere based on who they feel like laying off. This says the company is a hard place to work at so be prepared with your updated resume ready to go.

That posting is specifically for WF Auto which has already undergone centralization into hubs. That took place last year. The hubs listed are specific to the Auto line of business. While I feel we will see similar actions taken throughout the company for other lines of business, I wouldn't say that all lines will be centralized into these specific locations listed for Auto.

Why would someone lie about that? Such ignorance.

OK – here is the role pushed to my email – if you're not too lazy, you can find the job number yourself (Satisfied, now???)

Yes the hub cities are tiered. Chandler (Phoenix metro) is one of the preferred hub cities. I overheard an executive discussing this and the comment was that they do not like to see half-empty offices in these preferred hub cities.
