Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

d4 this d4 that ? do you chumps really think that d4 is going rogue and doing stuff without the Cwa International approval? puhleeze .Same thing would have happened had any other district been at the plate . ITS ALL A SHAM and Cwa International and Company are ONE .Someone really should look into some attorneys.

I’ve been paying the dues for 25 years but I’ve been to maybe 3 union hall meetings in all that time. Know why ? Because all they are are whine fests. Most of the complaints are frivolous and stem from those with a sense of entitlement. I’ve never been b-formed because I do my job. It’s that simple. Do your job, get paid , and quit crying about how life is unfair. The union is great for securing fair pay and benefits but it also protects the dirtbags who give the rest a bad name. So why would I go the meetings? It’s like a daycare for children who throw hissy fits and tantrums.

@zml...why go to the meetings when your no vote(and thousands of others) is going to magically turn into a yes vote.

Blah Blah Blah... Oh yeah, the CWA really knows about negotiation and tactics LOL! A bunch of amateurs pretending they can stand up to the Death Star's army of professional negotiators and lawyers. All we need to do is look at the lousy contracts they give us that always magically pass even when we vote no!

Blah blah blah... more yapping from fools who don’t know anything about negotiations and tactics. One thing in common with you people who complain about the union: you’re never there at the meetings and take no active role with the union.

@zrq, this was discussed in detail in another thread. The CWA makes sure all contract votes pass, even when the majority of voting members vote no.

All members who do not send in a ballot are automatically counted as yes votes. So members that are to lazy or apathetic to vote are automatic yes votes. Members who do not receive a ballot, of which we had many in D4, are automatic yes votes. Members whose ballots are late or lost are automatic yes votes. The whole process is dishonest and fraudulent as h#ll.

The CWA's contract voting has more in common with the dishonest voting mechanism of a third world banana republic dictatorship than an honest democracy. The CWA is a fake union that has become an extension of AT&T management, not an honest union that collectively bargains for its members interests first and foremost.

I hear time and again that after a contract is ratified that people don't know anyone who voted for it. So how do they get approved?

D4 already sh– the bed, its all downhill from there. all contracts would have lapsed by summer next year and then a national strike would have been possible but lets face it each district acts likes its own autonomous area completely in the pocket of T. Bunch of dumb a– good ol boys holding out their hands for sc-aps never looking at the long term big picture.

A strike will be pointless for us without national contract unity. T will simply shift management and resources from other parts of the country and save a lot of money along the way. We will miss some paychecks and if we're lucky enough not to get locked out we will come back for the usual small pay increase and significant healthcare cost increase. It's a shame that national contract unity is not the #1 demand.

you actually think the union will threaten their buddies at the company with a strike? Step back and take long term view of just what and how cwa has negoitated on our behalf for oh say the last 20 years. The folks that are being threatened by the union, are the union members. You will like what they get for you and it will be the best that they can do, regardless of the facts.
