On the standuptoverizon facebook page they brag about how much money the strike is costing VZ. They brag about how municipalities are switching from VZ to another carrier. They are proud they are picketing vzw stores and convincing customers to switch to VZ's competitors. This is still their company. A strike is only temporary. One of the sticking points is protecting jobs. Losing customers and profits is definitely some backwards thinking about how to save jobs with the company. In the end a contract will be signed, there will be fewer customers, there will be hostility and resentment, and there will be jobs lost whether it be union side or management side. And just FYI the word management at VZ does not mean the same as manager. Management at VZ can mean anything from accounting to IT to being a patent attorney.
So keep driving customers away, keep getting YOUR customers to switch to another carrier, and keep being proud of how much money the strike is costing VZ. I'm sure that will have no impact on the jobs you're trying to protect.
