Well, got a nice kick to my derriere.
I was completely taken by surprise. My last day at work is going to be 2 months from now. I got 3 weeks of severance. I have been at Qualcomm for over 10 years and this is how they thank me.
Got the boot too
Had that scary meeting with my director and hr generalist. 3 weeks of severance. Departure 4 months from now. They were so kind to offer going over my packet's details. Helped me feel really good about it. A**holes
Forget Status Reports, Its time to fill out the NCAA Bracket!

WSJ Asks, "Too Many International Students?"
Universities get most cash from international students. Competition for top universities overseas is worse than US.
Empiricial Observation
People recently being handed severance packages may be indicative of a new round of layoffs.

Mofos. What the fvck is this. I gave 7 years of my life to this company. Can people respond to this thread with details about their packet?
And the carnage begins...
Stupid HRs and directors strolling the hallways. Handing people their packets. And this time it's cruel. Me and 2 staffs I know got the boot. Anybody know the percentage reduction this time around? 3 weeks of severance is a joke. Be prepared for a... — read more

Massively reduced severance?
I heard that Qualcomm will be massively reducing it's severance payouts in the next round of layoffs and forevermore. IBM changed it's policy to just 1 month so who thinks Qualcomm will too?
H-1B program only favors billionaires and millionaires top executives of companies so they can profit financially
It replaces US workers with lower waged Indians and brings discrimination to workplace and society.
If H-1Bs visas did not exist engineers would be making a lot more than doctors, lawyers.
H-1B visas are suppressing wages in a big way.
