The yellow Wells Fargo letters have been 100 percent removed from the white James Center in downtown Richmond. A sign (or non-sign) of the times. Call Center next probably closing sooner than later. 🤔

Maybe it will say "JPM" next. Lol

Still no name on the building this morning leaving town on a business trip. I think the Wells Fargo name left town on the James Center. A few branches have closed here, and the Richmond call center will be closing sometime soon. They've already started displacing Team leads and many people.
@wf TY, just celebrated my second year here
@vj
I had family that worked for Central Fidelity and loved it. I worked for a short amount of time for Jefferson National Bank in the late 1980's. I think Central Fidelity and Jefferson Bankshares merged into Wachovia late 1990's. I've worked at bank and brokerage jobs. Not
licensed. I've enjoyed working all these years. I'm ambitious enough that I'll find another job when displaced from here. Congratulations on your new Credit Union job. You sound very ambitious as well. The Credit Union is lucky to have you.
@fm - Small world… I started at Central Fidelity in 1993, went thru all the mergers and eventually worked out of Orlando when I received my package in 2021 as an OM 2. Had a nice year off and now work for a great credit union. Work from home 70% / pay is the same. BTW, worked in the building in Glen Allen in Innsbrook which I would imagine holds the call center and is almost empty now
Replacing the yellow sign may be due to the removal of that color from the WF signage. It’s red and white now. Just a guess but hopefully all goes well in the VA capital. I have a few coworkers and family members there.

It's always beautiful at Christmas time in the Financial district/Two James Center. I hope they still put up Christmas lights in 2025, and in the future.
@fg
Question: So what will the building be named next?
"Two James Center was later known as the Central Fidelity Bank Building from 1993 to 1998, the Wachovia building from 1998 to 2008, and since 2008 has been known as the Wells Fargo Building."
Question: Is that an indication the Wells call center nearby in Glen Allen is closing much sooner? The removal of the prominent Wells Fargo name on the Two James Center building is a recent change. In the past Central Fidelity, then Wachovia, then Wells Fargo, now blank until ___??
Soon all that will be left in the James Center will be the Advisors.
Pretty sure that Wiseman will be the last domestic call center. Others are dropping like flies, and I'm sure it'll go eventually as well.
Probably because we downsized so much, we couldn't keep the sign.
