Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

VZ's EVP: Strategic Planner

This week, we brought Verizon’s top leaders together for our June Leadership Forum to discuss the state of the business, our company priorities, and how we’re executing our strategy. Market changes might require us to adapt, but our strategy remains the same and our execution is critical to achieving our goals. It was great collaborating with our leaders across the company on how we move our business forward. Our #VTeam is the best in the business!

Agree, the VZ CEO, is a worthless and embarrassing leader and incompetent. There is no reason to keep him gainfully employed at Verizon. The wrong person for the job. And furthermore, his predecessor, hand picking the current CEO, not much good to say about his decision.

The labour/craft, unions, were to be the target?

@xeu+1n3vlbSk assuming that hans came in to cut the fat which I also believe is true he might be the worst butcher ever. Speaking of my position, it has not been streamlined, it has become slightly faster but it requires more tickets, it requires more requests for overrides from smaller teams while the people we help, whether it is customers or our indirect partners are not aware of changes and expect us to do things that we no longer can. Not to mention unneeded system rebuilds and and the new designs lacking functions that the whole team is used to and came with more system crashes or added crashes to systems that previously lacked them. I am not even going to go into the double work causes by vendors.

@vhv+1n3vlbSk But this gang's failures are easily and readily measured in wasted capital and drags on earnings. Then again - Han's managerial missteps and financial failures ended up making him 'the highest-paid man in Sweden'. Of course, he backfilled all of the serious executives' jobs with his politically correct smoke-blowing Peter Principal Proofs. Has anyone seen anything serious out of the Strategy group that either makes sense or makes money? However, I will wager that this company will be tough to beat in the Woke ESG. DEI capital and customer destruction Olympics.

What always makes me laugh is the arrogance of these people. They KNOW they’ve failed at their jobs; and yet, they maintain an air of superiority that is unmatched.

Truly failing up with a high degree of persistence.

There has not been a winning strategic plan on the table since 2017/2018. Everything after that has been an absolute mess. Although the marketing and advertising absolutely sucked during those years, and actually when sockless Diego doomed our ads to afterthoughts. All of the "strategists" need to be shown their way out to the street, and not Wall Street! What a bunch of know-nothing nincompoops. Things will putter along until the current crew is kicked out.

What execution? And why would anyone keep a strategy that bleeds customers and brings stock price near all time lows? "They done lost it". Can't wait till this ship is sunk.

Looks like "WOKE" has finally found me
In my life, there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
Can't stop now, I've traveled so far
To change this lonely life
I wanna know what "WOKE" is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what "WOKE" is
I know you can show me

The c band auction is/was a major problem. VZ and AT&T had to have that spectrum, but TMO played games in the auction and jacked up the price to exorbitant levels. Now that 5g is not the game changer or money maker it was forecast to be, that debt looks bad. But that spectrum had to be obtained no matter what, so it will be good long term but won't pay off in the short term. Verizon will cut cut cut just like the other guys for the foreseeable future.

What does Hans have to do to be fired? Imagine if all of us did our job as poorly as him. How quickly do you think every single one of us would be fired? Yet somehow instead of being fired, he's given extra bonuses and pay raises. How is that even possible?

There may be another side to this coin. First of all the entire DOW and S&P are in turmoil not only our VZ stock. Secondly. And I heard this years ago .. that our CEO was intentionally brought here to cut the fat and streamline systems and get headcount to 100k. There is someone pulling Hans strings and he too must follow the game plan. IF this is true he is right on target. Our 5G buildout may be late to the game. But overall there may be a master plan and Hans was the catalyst. It’s big business. We are just soldiers
