Stock Tanking & CFO Growth Strategy: Cutting Mobile for Employees

Another brilliant move from Helen, our CFO. Never a thought for the employees or the long term growth of the company but just endless rounds of redundancies, reorganisations, cost cutting, and not this: scrapping company mobile phones and instead offering staff a measly £6-8 per paycheck. What a farce - is this how you value your employees?

Back in May, she pocketed 2-3M in retention options for absolutely no reason. Meanwhile rest of us are left to deal with the fallout of her decisions. Frankly, it’s poetic justice that’s she is now underwater with those options give the damage she caused.

This decline began the moment she joined the company. She wrecked the sales organization with her favorites in bloody sales leaders, and now dragging down the entire company. 40yrs of culture undone in no time at all with her. Her tenure as CFO will be remembered as a failure, plain and simple.

And as for the CIO - what a disappointment to blindly follow her lead and send out that message about axing mobile coverage. Shame on you.

Hoping Sanoke can turn things around before it’s too late.

Budgets on ice, meanwhile the finance department and ELTare staffed with more dead weight than a discount airline.

Take the chief of staff for instance. Half the time he is on calls looking like he is broadcasting from beach hut with Tshirt and no socks. Someone ought to remind him it’s 3 days RTO and not a photoshoot for means health. Buy a shirt mate.

Yet somehow his lads strutting about like he is running the place. Apparently the heir apparent to HR just waiting for the CEO to give him the boot upstairs. Comedy gold that.

Then there is the organization effectiveness team - a full cast of wonderland. I half expect the Mad Hatter to send out the next all hands invite.

But employees to cover their mobile coverage

CIO aka John sent out an email as preview to all managers (instructed by CFO) This could prob save them around 500k-1M at best.

Next is other projects & expenses, and finally $8 for lunch. They are funding that unqualified CFO.

With raises as 1-3% ranges and mediocre bonuses. I am just waiting to get my bonus next month so I can leave. Have another opportunity lined up but no point to leave right before I get that money. Care less on those options

Where are you located that they took away mobile? And in what group? I’m in US and get some $$ in my paycheck for using my own phone and I haven’t heard anything about this.

@112 market cap threshold is more applicable for new additions rather than continuous member. However, it could be a factor of the removal when combining with others, especially liquidity is more issue for FactSet. Average volume is way smaller than what it should be, it is not automatic but the firm is considered for removal if it stays this low (in both size and liquidity), especially if other factors worsen (profitability, relevance, trading interest).

From Google:

There isn't a single "smallest" market cap for a company in the S&P 500 because the index composition is constantly changing, and companies can drop below the minimum eligibility criteria while remaining in the index for a period. However, as of a recent update in July 2025, a company needs an unadjusted market capitalization of at least US$20.5 billion to be added to the S&P 500, but existing members may continue to be included if their float-adjusted market cap remains at least 50% of this minimum threshold.

FDS at around 10,8 billion .. getting close.

@rt it’s not impossible to acquire but valuation is too high if you run your analysis using workstation. If everything downs 40-50% more from here, it looks quite attractive in the market

@r7 I think its more likely that the set would be acquired than removed from the SP500.

Count down started to the removal from S&P 500, market value got halved, super low volume which against s&p criteria and strong gravity to go down further. The price was above 400 when fds joined the index

@me

It’s funny. Retention for a CRO/CFO who has never sold or knows accounting and performed terribly. Were they really worried she would leave. What other company would hire her?

3M Retention in 8k filing. They did not disclose until June but given to her in May after Phil’s departure.

They should have let her go. EC would have been more positive outcome if she was not on it.

Thx for cutting mobile so no longer need to check emails or teams after hrs

What HS paid retention options? Wtaf?
I don’t care that they are worthless right now, what is the justification? There is a number of people still dealing with the fall out of her mid-adventure into Sales, have they been paid a retention bonus? I know I have not, this is total dog sh*t.
Catrina I hope you’re reading this, there are other employees expecting a Retention Bonus!!

No vision, No strategy as ex CEO and CFO turn this company run by to HR and Finance.

CFO rotted FDS culture by bringing all the unqualified leaders such as head of Americas who got canned. Constant DEI & BRGs got us where we are today.

Another FY with 1-2% raises and 1/2 stock price

100% agreed. What a double standard. CFO travels everywhere (under 10hrs) with business/first class - but employees have to cover their own phone working on the road and after hours. She bombed the Q4 EC speaking over everyone - NOT knowing what we did and will do but wants us to cover devices. No fu--ing way I pay for my devices or work beyond 4-5PM when she piles up millions.

She really su-ks. Even broken/sh---y Mercury can do a better job than her as a CFO.

Will she ask us to provide our own laptops next? If she's decided the job doesn't require a phone then I look forward to being uncontactable out of hours or when on the road. I won't be subsidising a multi-billion dollar company by supplying my own hardware.

Don’t forget who hired her and empowered her. Did Snow dump his stock before announcement?
