The last genuine source I spoke stated that nationwide 5K–7K RIFs will be executed by Q1 2026, possibly in Feb/Mar 2026!

@nv if you are band 5 and not in the meetings, then you are the topic of the meetings.
Look, y'all can sit here and pat yourself on the back how amazing VZ is, just like you did when those of us being honest told you about the 15% layoff in November.
And then in 7 weeks you'll rant and complain.
It's fine, I don't care.

I'm just so glad that the pulled in dividend raise and the promise of stock buybacks helped jack up the stock. That way I was able to dump my remaining shares...

@pc BS... clearly you are being an agitator and I'd be the farm you don't even work for VZ

This is so much BS! The company can't operate if you cut 12,000 people. That would be 8K below the current count of T-Mo employee base and they don't have a division like VZB, they are cell phone only.

I think the HR digest article was misleading. I think they were referring to the layoffs that happened last year, some were still on the books to start 2026 as there are different off boarding dates depending on state law.

We’ll see if anything comes up on all employee webcast but currently there is no info to substantiate mass layoff. Not saying it won’t happen, just saying nothing to assign any percentage of confident to it happening

These layoffs will be in EMEA I reckon and alot of staff are oblivious to this in certain offices we will know Tuesday I think our fate in EMEA

They already flew that kite on HRDigest, suggesting that it was 15k. However, if that is following the last trend, then 12-13k should be expected with the remainder coming from International and India. Hard times ahead again!

This makes a lot of sense, just watch ur SD’s and AVP’s close door meetings. The goal is to get higher number of employees under a Sr. director and AVP. From the best I know is one Sr.Dir per region and the same pattern under. Lets see what happens but im already mentaly prepared and working on my resume.

Mostly the core stores will be moving over to agent in march up to 90% by end of this year!

No surprise now that FTR has closed. Finance and HR and Marketing, maybe, but for sure IT with budget cuts and change in direction per Dan's own comments.

that is the current target. All those people calling @op a liar, please talk to your Band 5 bosses nine level above you in the org chart about what they have been doing every day the last three weeks.
I have spent more hours in senseless budget cutting meetings (with goals that are completely disconnected from reality) than I have spent doing my actual job.

Its time to go --telecom is a sinking ship - everyone in facilities ops is looking to get out - except the few nearing retirement who live on the West coast who are flying under the radar and just cruising

I read an article that stated another 13K employees will be impacted due to AI - plus don't forget they have all the Frontier folks coming over----give 110 % because if you don't you may be planning your own exit strategy

this is a result of being too too big in head count. especially IT. All the telcos have tiny data. The problem is IT is hiring alot of in dians to make up garbage data and make the data look bigger. IT should be like 100 people in total. The fact is the data size is so so tiny. This means the cost of the plan will go down if IT size goes to 100 people. The phone plans are too high cause the operations cost is way to large. The number of employees must be proportional to the data size. The telco companies are correcting the problem now.

This reminds me of the times at MCI right before Verizon bought them. Major layoffs - huge reduction in workforce, Sound familiar?

I’m starting to wonder if they are trying to position the company to sell...it’s hard to take anything serious with all the chaos in this company. I just scratch my head these days - how did we get to where we are now? It’s sad…
