JEs

From those JE how they notify? Via phone? Who calls? What about if you are at PTO?

@n9 My manager told me last week during my 1:1 when I asked about the layoffs that if a person was on PTO they definitely call you. They will call your emergency contact number you have on file and tell you about your JE/Layoff. They already have everything set up for your access to end at 5:30 pm so they WILL be calling you.

If you’re on pto or leave they will wait until your first day back, not call you

I watch this every once in a while after getting hit 2ish years ago. Watch for meetings on your calendar on Thursdays offcycle from payday. Its been consistent for years that they lay people off like that. Its how I knew my 1 on 1 was a layoff when I asked to move it to Friday after always having flexibility for years. I cant speak to pto. I should have taken pto to throw a wrench in the gears, but instead, I called my manager the day before and confronted them on why it was so important to have the call that day at that time. It allowed me to come to terms with what was going to happen ahead of time and I was the only one that didn't look like they were about to throw up during the meeting. Both of the people in my meeting were laid off in April 2025. My manager swore up and down the day layoffs were warned about that they would tell anyone on their team if it was coming and they kept their mouth shut until I called and pressed them, so dont trust that your manager has your back.

A layoff can also happen in a mass setting and youll be put on a meeting with a couple hours notice with all your peers, possibly managers, and HR. Everyone will be hit at the same time.

Always on an offcycle thursday.
