@54v any particular area or site?
Heard of several who got WFR'd today and yesterday.
@ka Better work protection laws mean they cost more to layoff than americans.
From the Munich closure in July I heard months not weeks of severance based on years of service. I'm happy for them to have more breathing room after a huge life change.
We have to change the laws if we want corporations to behave any differently.
When will this come to Germany, France, the UK, or even Denmark and Finland? It’s a shame, as these guys are so protected by law that it’s not possible to do anything to them—they take trips, days off, and even butty kisses are included...
"I was notified Monday, 19 years with HP all in printing division. Heard heavy cuts in print in U.S."

"No longer a core site.
Plenty of space and desks."
No more "core sites" really left in the US. Look at Boise and Sprin.
It was HR in Corvallis.
I'm guessing it will be more in Corvallis.

It's about time they hit Palo Alto. Too many CWs from this location working from home making over $100k a year need to be outsourced.
With San Diego closing next month and Boise already a ghost town, where else can they cut? Corvallis and Spring have had massive cuts too.
Makes sense since Oct 31 is the end of the fiscal year.
