Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

What A Cluster...

I think it's very possible that more people applied than what they anticipated.

imagine if the target was 8,000 eliminations and they received 12,000 applications... but of those 12,000 applications, only 3,000 were on the elimination list. they still need to cut the 5,000... so what do they do? maybe accept 1,000 of the VSPs and still have to cut 4,000...

now for those 8,000 VSP applications they have to reject? that's a LOT of pi---d off people who will probably be looking to leave. now they have to figure out how to retain those employees.

and for those 4,000 being cut... they will be upset too.

that is probably the clusterf*ck they have gotten themselves into.

July is about to be a headache for everyone.

If you applied thru are going to do everything they can to accept it. Maybe they delay your separation date but I still think you're gone either way.

I am now embarrassed to say I work for Centene. It's pretty pathetic for a company to be so off based on their financials/forecasting to go the VSP route.

@k4 Just my 2 cents! We all have our own perspectives. If this isn't your cup of tea, feel free to just scroll on by. It's totally free to ignore, so no need to get worked up over it! 😊

@jk

Here you go with this same post content, verbatim, copy/pasting it onto thread after thread, in the Centene section of this site!

https://www.thelayoff.com/centene

You are very determined to try to do some sort of damage control here, by copy/pasting that same B.S. on thread after thread. "Leadership holds all the cards"...LOL

Is that why "leadership" had to backtrack and change the VSP policy, once they saw the deluge of numbers of people who applied for it? Suddenly the "leadership" tone changed from "take it or leave it" (where most people took the offer) to "hey wait a minute guys, we need to change things up a bit here...we need more time to process things."

GTFO with your B.S.
Everyone can see through it, and you're fooling no one.

Honestly, no one knows what leadership will do, and they hold all the cards. Speculating on every rumor isn't going to change the outcome. In the end, it boils down to two options: accept the Voluntary Separation Program (VSP) or risk an involuntary layoff. It’s a financial decision for the company, not a personal one. My best advice is to stop stressing over the noise and focus on preparing for whichever scenario comes your way.

It’s definitely possible they got a bigger response than they anticipated because in the VSP offer email it says you will be notified on or around 7/15 but now in the latest outreach it says 7/25 or 7/27 I think. So they gave themselves more time and just glossed right over that.

@OP I felt more optimistic at having a job for maybe 2 months now but reading these comments I now feel I could come in Monday and get laid off. I’m ok either way. I did not accept the offer and I continue to look with no luck for a job as a nurse. I am not going to be upset anymore about all this chaos because as it is apparent we have no idea what they will choose to do every day or hour. Remaining pivot agile for my life change. Best luck to everyone
