As a fresher, what are the safest divisions to go into at Optum? Most of my friends got hired but I'm worried they may have layoffs.

@an Exactly. I was RIFed earlier this year, and I'm doing the same job for 25% more pay, paid benefits and flex PTO.
When will social work managers be laid off with optum at home? With the new program where FPM staff and providers work alongside each other seems all social workers would be managed by the FPM nurse manager.
Oct is going to be the biggest from what I hear. Jun, July, Aug, Sep get incrementally worse, but yes Jun layoffs are coming. Managers were asked to provide names according to other sources in this forum.

Just start applying to other places. Every where I've interviewed at doesn't have near the networth of this company and they pay 2-3 times as much as the role I was in. Also, 10-15 % bonuses are apparently normal.
You'll start seeing how greedy the company is.
Just expect them every month. Teams hit may vary. They’ve been steadily laying off on a monthly basis since the beginning of 2025! May not know the date this month but someone said on or around June 25th. Stop having anxiety about layoffs. I was laid off and I’m still alive. Life goes on. Something better will come if it happens. Best of luck and be kind to yourself. 😘
