Does anyone have any insight on headcount reduction coming to Independent Testing & Validation? I’m new to this LOB and don’t have any background knowledge on the inner politics. Thanks.

@h4 gotcha. I was speaking generally that IT&V as a whole is overstaffed but I don’t know of specific areas since I’m new to the organization. I have had frank conversations with others, including a manager, that the work has steadily decreased, resulting in some teams without enough to spread out. The opinion is there will definitely be restructuring in 2026 as it’s determined where there is redundancy and overlap, including headcount reduction.
@gp yes I’m referring to WIM IT&V
@fv, the thread is about IT&V.
We are understaffed in WIM and not backfilling. What area is overstaffed?
@c0 yes, there are over 1,000 people and we are currently over staffed— so layoffs are inevitable. The insight I’m asking for is whether anyone has any ‘inside’ knowledge of when/how many or any other details they are willing to share. I am coming up with a game plan, but obviously having an idea of what is around the corner is helpful.
This team has over 1000 people?
We should start a class action against WF malpractice in employment https://www.classaction.org/search?q=Wells%20Fargo
I think we are safe for another year unless the directors are going to complete the 2026 plan.
My experience with IT&V on multiple occasions is they are unskilled and incompetent. Two examples. Documentation jam-packed with prose and double-speak but lacking any grounding in appropriate statistical science. Analysts running tests that had zero self-service data skills.
Good riddance one can only hope.
Yes, I heard IT&V will be hit hard on Tuesday, 12/23.
I don’t know but we are all living in the gap between AI mythology and AI reality.
