Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Exit dates for those LR’ed in USA, Canada and EMEA & the job market

I believe exit dates are two months in USA, and a month in Canada from notification date of August 14. Could someone confirm please, along with the package details? Are packages similar across the geographical area? How does it work in EMEA?

Are people able to find new jobs, hearing it’s a tough market out for anyone looking for a job. Next layoffs are around the corner in Feb 2026, so hang tight.

@e9+1k565ztkw That’s insane and a huge reason why the EU is viewed as hostile to business expansion.

Packages very massively per country...

Germany has massively unionised and protected workforce - I knew of people there getting over 2 YEARS wages!

vs Far less in America

UK here , when I was laid off , I was told at the start of October and advised my last day was the end of October. I did receive an additional 4 weeks in my final payment in lieu of notice .

Things are about to get a lot worse as we approach end of year. Less hiring, more budget cuts, layoffs, tariffs settling down and we start seeing the effects and more people added to the unemployment line. Hold on to your jobs and keep looking. A 15% cut in that new job at a company that is stable has promise is the right move

Packages are unique to the country concerned and the prevailing employment laws.
