Hardware engineer here. RTO doesn’t exist. Hybrid work is greatly abused and leadership has lost control of the situation. HW Eng who make up excuses to WFH 90% of the time love it, and the others that actually come to the lab to achieve something, who are forced to cover for them, hate it. Productivity and group morale is at an all time low. No reason to go above and beyond anymore when leadership can no longer distinguish the hard workers from the no good, lazy, incompetent so-called engineers. Since this type of behavior was encouraged by Cisco ELT, the only upside is that I can still collect a nice paycheck whether or not I feel like doing anything, and lately, it’s mostly the latter.
@ed google they threaten but dont go
What is the point of RTO when teams are so geographically dispersed? Cisco should stop sending American jobs to all the other countries in the world and hire locally, then RTO will make sense.
Name one tech company that is innovative where teams don't go into the office. I'll wait.
"officially" there is no mandate, but people within 50 miles of certain offices have been told that they WILL show up if they expect to see raises, promotions and bonus.
I expect badging is being tracked, big brother is watching.
To me this should be an ALL or NOTHING, you either call everyone back or it's optional for everyone.
My org is still WFH, everyone is all over the place, not sure how RTO would ever work so we will just be gone eventually
Employees must be in office two days a week. They are tracked for security badges.
It’s an open space with workstations and phones. It’s like a call center atmosphere where everyone is talking . Can’t do any work or take customers meetings without excessive noise. Whose idea was this anyway?
Go in for events, sometimes.
