Simple answer, young new hires that don’t have the foggiest how to debug / solve a problem.

As Cisco quickly moves towards CSCzz99999 almost no one there ever did.

Simple answer, young new hires that don’t have the foggiest how to debug / solve a problem. So Cisco pays me very well with freedom to establish my own flex hours.

@n2 right like you can just sc--w up DAILY and they will pay you 1 year salary. It's hilarious. Well except if you have a PIP. Guess they caught on to some gaming the system. But most can just do nothing and watch tv all day, collect $$$$$$ it's a joke

Barely working - fake it till you make it - and pulling in $350k a year to do almost nothing.

I get to do whatever I want all day and nobody cares.

I talk on a phone for maybe 10 mins if that a day. Send one email - no joke. If I have to just say a bunch of meaningless jargon words.

Go shopping, go to family stuff, take off to a spot for a few days, play video games.

I do not "go" to work.

I feel a lot of tech and office workers are doing the same. Probably most. But who cares, they will actually waste all their revenue to pay us to chill. Hahaha okay!

the work is rewarding, WFH is great, and compensation has been solid.

Familiarity, like my boss, like the people I work with, like my compensation package. But, after 26 years, I'm burned out and fed up with all the red tape.

CP is about as technical as my 103 year grandpa. A total charlatan and politician with imposter syndrome. Cisco management is full of these people and that's why the company is fu---d.

I do as little work as possible and get away with it!!!! It’s amazing how little you can do here. I got tired of busting my a-s and watching others do nothing and get promoted! So now I have everyone else sell and it’s working out quite well!

  • job is easy
  • easy to stand out since most colleagues are low-skilled
  • I work from home and exploit this ruthlessly
  • Cisco is willing to employ older workers like me who would be filtered out by ageism anywhere else

They paid me (quite well) to leave, now almost a decade ago.

I took my marbles to another playground and worked until age 55.

Following the IRS "Rule of 55"; I retired early, at 55.

I still do some part-time work to keep busy, but far done with working at the pace and (mostly self-induced) mental anxiety.

The key was active market trading, started long ago, through the Fidelity BrokerageLink function on our 401k.

Trading is not for everyone. Took much effort and attention, for literally 15 years. Luckily went all in, after 2008 market meltdown. Was unnerving. Fortunate it worked out.

In today's overvalued stock market, I would highly recommend to proceed with great caution if thinking of day trading. Way overdue for a significant correction.

I left six months back. Couldn’t stand the place and it’s BS and toxic, woke agenda a minute longer. I stay here to look at how other folks are coping and it reinforces my descision as to why I left.

A big chunk of unvested RSU. The plan is simple: wait a couple of years and leave.

The paycheck, and hopes to get caught in the next LR and they pay me to leave.

With how often layoffs happen around here there’s no point leaving on your own when you can collect an extra 6 months pay with a layoff.

A big bunch of RSUs, sadly. My boss isn't bright and he's unstable under pressure. He favors sycophants and creates little clans around himself. It really su-ks but I'm leaving way too much money on the table by walking away.
