Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

More Layoffs on the horizon

HR insider told me that they are not done yet. They just don’t have enough HR personnel to complete them all as fast as they would like. Severance is lamentable - 1 week per year of service is a joke!

@1z2 1 week per year of service. So if you were at HAL for 4 years, you’ll get 4 weeks (1 month).

@xm we are definitely going to buy less gifts this Xmas. It all makes sense now why someone said that we don’t need 30 dollls as gifts and can survive with just two for Xmas. Tthose who used to buy two dolls for Xmas can now get two toothpicks as gift.

So layoffs not over till end of year? Does that mean early Xmas presents might still be handed out?

@p1 pull your head out of sand buddy. This layoff was planned well before OPEC increased production. This is totally driven by the market volatility that started in April.

The one week per year of service is only from your last hire date or at least that's what I was having to fight HR about.. so total accumulated service years do not count if you're a rehire.. anyone else contested this?

@e6 the only governments that stabilize the market are in OPEC, and they've chosen to increase production.

The sooner our government can stabilize the market, the better for all of us. If not expect more waves of layoffs in the coming months.

Yeah this person is telling the truth. Don’t make big purchases right now and keep expenses low because everyone will be affected during this RIF/ restructuring as they called it but we all know it is to keep the stock price up to keep the investors happy!
