Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Not complying with RTO

Never stepped foot in the office. Pretty sure I’m on a list somewhere, but I’m not wasting 2+ hours a day driving just to sit in a ghost town.

Fire me if you want, I’m not quitting like you want me to:)

@dm It’s based upon your grade level. Grades 11 and up I believe are bonus eligible.

@dq This is cr-p. Each BL will still have exceeds performer’s. It should be 10-20% of a team. Merit may be less this year but we haven’t been told it’s going to be hard to have exceeds performer’s.

Totally agree it’s not worth ki-ling yourself to be exceeds though. There’s very little merit between meets and exceeds these days.

@e5 Bonus % is directly related to your grade level. If we are fully funded next year, which we should be, if for example you’re a grade 14 your compensation package includes a 15% (or somewhere around there, I can’t remember off hand) bonus. If we’re not fully funded, it will be less, but it shouldn’t be far off. If it is, your manager chose to spend it elsewhere. I’ve been in mgmt over 10 years every one of my bonuses have been at least what it should have been. Most of the time it’s more.

If employees understood how little if any money is connected to an exceeds rating, they would stop being stressed. Promotion also includes very little actual cash.

@ds Who’s a-s are you kissing cause that’s not what I receive for bonus and the raise is usually only about 2% from my experience here.

Why do you all keep saying 2% bonus? I got 20% last year. Our earnings are good. Bonuses are tied to your grade and performance.

How is she going to measure time in office? So far, she only mentioned scans. How are they measuring this, and do they have to tell us so we are aware?

@dq don't stress so much about exceeds. I have colleagues who get exceeds and they got less than 1% more than me in yearly increases. 0.6% to 0.8.% more for being called exceeds. Now, this may not be that way in every department or person, but that is not enough for me to cry over or let this consume me. Just keep doing great work and go somewhere else if you don't feel appreciated.

@b7 regardless if give it your all, my manager told me it was going to be nearly impossible to get an exceeds this year...I have been an exceeds every year since I've started so that is super motivating!! So merit increase and bonuses are going to be minimal at best...

I will take no bonus and no raise because the raise and bonus will barely cover the cost of commuting and the extra 3 hours each day spent commuting.

Every month, I am warned I am not at 100 percent RTO, hope they don’t fire me soon.
I refuse to come in to sit by myself

Can someone explain how allotted bonus works? If it’s 2% that we should be expecting then what was last year? Just to compare.

Um I hate to say it but I hope you are ready for 6 to 12 months unemployed. The job market for white collar is really bad.

One of the strongest performers I know in the entire Bank in my specialty wants to leave but he cannot find a job.

I'm probably going to do this too. I'd gladly accept no bonus/raise if they would stop hassling me about how many days I've been in the office. I'd like to keep working here, but if they let me go over this, I don't care.

@d5 Do not get your hopes up allotted bonus is 2% this year.

The more people who don't comply, the bigger share of the bonus pool for those who do.

I despise RTO and think it is completely stupid. That said, be prepared to get ZERO for your bonus and merit increase early next year, if you still have a job at the end of this year. Because that's what is going to happen.

Good on ya. More people ought to do that.

Bold move in this job market, let's see if that plays out.

I'm against the RTO implementation here, but would only risk non compliance with a backup in hand. A decent number of tech companies have had some big layoffs recently, so unless you specialize in AI, the market is pretty saturated. More power to you to stick it to Gunjan though. Upper management is clueless here, and will replace non complaint workers with foreign contractors. "We put people first" - "U.S." Bank
