To @2iyo+13OoecwY: Italy closed its entire country. Still don't think it's serious?

To @5dfd+13OoecwY :
Kentucky associate of Walmart tested positive for the virus. The store is still open.

Everything one does prior to the hit will be flagged as 'alarmist'...

Everything one does after the hit will not be enough.

This virus is manageable if the health system functions properly. That's why everyone is trying to slow it down, if it spreads the system collapses. We do not have enough beds to help the sick (if things get out of control).

Do not listen folks who tell you it's under control and fully controlled.

This is where your survival instincts should kick in, wash hands and self isolate as much as you can.

Looking at the math, everyone swill understand this sometimes in April when our numbers go through the roof...

Liberals on the West Coast are closing school districts to hurt POTUS, but it will be the slow moving Mid West and South that will pay the price of being slow and reckless. You can downvote me all you want, just follow this thread and come revisit it in a few weeks - you shall see the light at that point.

The virus spreads geometrically, weekly.

2^n i.e. 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512,1024,2048 and on and on.

15% of recipients need hospitalization.

5% need ICU

As of today, covfefe drinkers aside, 3.4% die

My city of 100,000 has Four (4) ICU beds, 250 active acre beds 90% used, and two crematoria.

The CONFIRMED cases are folks needing the hospital, so for every one hospitalization there are ~8 folks running around spreading it to two more. It takes about three weeks of unconstrained spread after the first hospitalization before the hospital is overwhelmed. Another week to overwhelm the crematorium. One more week before 'bodies stack up like cord wood' That phrase comes from Philly in Sept 1918 where they had a big parade – and 12,000 people dies within three weeks.

This is a serious, serious problem.

300,000,000 * 0.34 = a big stinking number of funerals

If everyone gets infected 10 million will die. If half of us get infected 5 million will die.

If only 10% of us get infected 1 million will die.

Flu k–ls ~70,000 every year.

Here are some facts, I'd be happy to provide supporting detail or sources:

  • we do not know how lethal it is, they are seeing 4% in wuhan, and 1% in rest of the china, the rest of the world varies
  • it spares kids under 10 almost completely, extremely rarely k–ls folks under 30
  • it's moving slower than flu, started in jan but only 90K cases globally
  • see bullet above - probably less infectious than flu
  • it's not a flu, it's a completely different family of viruses
  • only two major symptoms: dry cough and fever - no runny nose/sinus issues reported
  • about 20% of the infected population become very ill, only 5% need hospitalization and ventilators
  • if you have family members older than 70 you should be really worried and have a plan for helping them separated until this thing is over - love them and help them but have a plan
  • EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY hit hard has quickly exhausted medical capacity, ventilators are a must but are very expensive and require an crew to operate - this will happen here if things get out of control and we cannot leave folks to die because we are out of ventilators, that's why it's critical to slow the darn thing down

Well you know you’re expected to work even if you’re sick... so Heaven help us if Sams or Walmart employees contracts this virus. It will spread like crazy. And no.. I am not one to call in. You could count the number of times I’ve called in on one hand in 18 years Just saying. This company shows no compassion for illness.

@1gpr The 10-foot rule still exists?

by

Post ID: @1azk+13OoecwY

Even if there was a vaccine a lot of people would refuse to get it.

The flu is worse!

Most of the people who are succumbing to the Coronavirus have underlying medical issues!

WASH YOUR DAMN HANDS!!! We could stop the spread of so many things if people did this simple task!!!

3249 death in 2 month and 2981 deaths in 1 year....

i would add another 5 stepback to your 10 foot rule :)

better safe than sorry

Don't try to explain it to them. Remember they're also the ones complaining about how horrible their jobs are while they keep working there. Most are young and don't know enough about life yet. We all need to walk away from the conversation.

@1xju is that your only response to someone putting you in your place? I would probably walk away too. If you're the one posting about car accidents then it's time to go back to your video games.

@zjd ok so let's just ignore then. That'll make it better. I do not understand why people jump to other deaths when something happens. Most of the time car accidents happen and you couldn't do anything about it. With this virus we can all take precautions. Just like we can get a flu shot for a lot of strains. This one has no protection yet. Just by us preparing. Go ahead and do math on everything else while you're at it. Doesn't change a thing. This person posted to help others, and look what happens. Doesn't matter what subject anyone brings up, someone will always say but what about the other people. Don't complain about what's wrong with our country. You negative people are what's wrong.

@cui+13OoecwY Do you understand math every year in the US 1.25 million people are k–led in car accidents that is over 3200 a day In the next 2 days more people will be k–led in car accidents than by the caronavirus you are more likely to die driving to work than by the virus.

@vsr do you mean the flu that has been around compared to 2 months of this one??? It's not fear mongering when you're telling people to prepare. This is obviously worse than the regular flu for a lot of people. Let's wait and see who the first person is that posts on here that they can't find childcare once the school closed, Or complaining that Sam's isn't doing anything about the associates coughing all over the place since they can't afford to take time off. Bunch of imbeciles.

stop panicking already 95,046 cases of caronavirus 3249 deaths worldwide out of a population of 7.7 Billion 80.282 cases in china with 2981 deaths Flu totals for the us this year 32 Million cases with 18,000 deaths do not fall for this media driven fear mongering.

Be cautious but also keep in mind the flu this year has been way worse. Don't be like the mass public freaking out buying all sanitation product they can asap driving up our numbers.

The unknown is scary but the flu has been worse so far, that is what is fact.
