Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Is the 100K H1B fee really what we think it is?

It’s a 100k one time company fee for new H1Bs. This won’t affect existing H1BS. Theres like over 100 thousand of them already in the country. And they can just renew it. 100k one time fee is NOTHING for a company like Fiserv. They’ll probably just continue their same song and dance and continue to exploit America and the American people.

@hn Not US causing more than 9/10 new employees to be of one demographic in a country of 2 percent of local population!!! People over ten or twenty years ago? Give you that it was likely all merit. Noone can say all are badd but, the crazy lopside % we have at US on this company now is nepotism or racism. Market is competitive for logical explanations when the output is so bad quality here. We deserve reverse reward of quality.

For those of you who care about the truth, its a one time fee. Not annual.

There is BIG difference between slavery and H1B… you can leave anytime you want for H1B. Most of you raging against H1Bs need to think about who hired them. It is your management. As for the STEM graduates, none of then want to work five days in office at a decades old company with no growth or crazy RSU. They all want to work for FAANG! But you want to be a racist and keep complaining about H1B go ahead and make yourself feel better.

@a8 Paying 1 or 5 million is better than exposure to more bad quality and the negative effects of slavery.

@aj I’m not a shareholder. Glad to see the Fiserv stock plummet. I’m a tiny little cog in the machine. We have a lot of young Americans here who got expensive stem degrees and can’t get jobs. Also you just admitted that they hire H1BS to maximize profit, so that makes it ok? That was one of the core motivations behind slavery.

How are Indian people exploiting America and American people? They are getting paid to do a job. The corporations and shareholders (I.e. YOU) want big profits. The people who work are not the ones exploiting. The 100k is a one time fee for new applications. Fiserv is not going to pay it unless the candidate is extremely needed. Other big tech will not care. They are busy hiring ONE AI expert for almost 1B. 100k for a highly qualified candidate is not a deal breaker for them.

@a4, nope and they are also saying Indians can buy American citizenship for $1 million or they can buy it for $ 5 million and never pay taxes here. Our citizenship is up for sale.

If $100K per employee is nothing, then why does Fiserv lay people off?

I don’t think it’s a one-time, thought it was annual.
