I worked on one BA program where a co-worker's boss told him to work on a drawing for 8 hours, and at the end of the day erase his work. It was on a cost-plus military project.

Your comment is a reductive inaccurate characterization. Granted there may exist some factory redundancy. If the max and 787 engineering weren't such a botched abortion, maybe the company could get by with less of us.
The legacy programs do not have a lot of work, but because they’re still supporting those programs they need people there.

Shop steward, they dont do anything all day.
Forklift driver, I am on my phone gaming 8 hours a day plus they give me overtime.
