Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

New hires do not tolerate stress and pressure at all

Yep, we are lucky if 10 percent of our new hires make it to 6 months, most are gone by the 3rd month, mostball say the money is not worth the stress from customers and the stupid metrics.

I generally agree with a person who wrote this (post ID @1kmk+1jhqoi22 ), but I'm thinking perhaps this is an overly optimistic assessment? Because I know of several newbies who left without even being here for a month.

The talent pool is no longer there because we are paying McDonald's wages, so were getting McDonald's prospects. Last 2 people we hire lasted less than 3 months each. Didn't want to deal with customers bs and found jobs elsewhere making the same, or more, with less cr-p to deal with.

I was told that the talent is no longer there during the hiring process. It’s literally cringe worthy the prospecting that goes on and how this generation is. All my new hires didn’t even make it off of guarantee before they quit, most are because of customers.

All of the new hires already quit at my store. They all said the pay is not worth the bs. They were so miserable. ALL of the tenured reps have left my store. Now the store does sh-t numbers and all thanks to hans. Whoever came up with team commissions this is all your fault. Enjoy what you did. I go into work now and sometimes don’t sell anything for days because there is no incentive. Write me up. Nobody wants to work here

@1jft+1ji5rw9I There was a perfect explanation for current slamming down below. People slam for their numbers to look good in hopes of getting a promotion down the line. It has nothing to do with commission. I look at it the same way …like why bother ? They have zero integrity but want to be part of leadership ? Oh wait now it makes sense. The funny thing is that these days they aren’t hiring managers based on their numbers. Have you seen some of the people being promoted in the retail stores this past year ? They are drudging the bottom of the barrel because few even want SM/GM spots anymore.

@cai+1ji5rw9I apparently you haven't looked around lately, our benefits are on par with many, many other companies, some companies are better, stop drinking the company Kool aid and do some homework! People used to put up with the 25 kpis, the id--t customers and the bonehead bosses because of the money we made, the company has given tenured employees the shaft the last few years, our pay has gone down, I lost over $20000 a yr do to team commission alone, people are fed up and the higher ups could care less , surveys are useless, our systems are useless, the support people we have ( care, core, etc ) have been neutered do to outsourcing, they are completely useless and do more harm than good NOTHING has gotten better, every change makes things worse and it's starting to catch up to the powers that be, customers are leaving as fast as the employees but Hans and his cronies keep telling all of us how great this sh-t show is!

Who in the he-l is slamming on team commission? Not happening. I seriously call your bluff. The only thing being slammed is VZhome if anything. Slamming to make your coworkers paycheck bigger and run the risk of you getting canned for slamming? That's not happening. Sure there are a few bad apples but you talk like slamming has increased. It's basically not existent now. As they designed.

I'm a new hire and this company sucks. I hate working here. Micromanaging quotes and selling cr-p products is not for me. I'm putting in my 2 weeks soon and it only been a few months what a terrible experience

@iar+1ji5rw9I There is more slamming now then when individual commission was around. Anyone who made big checks back then was smart enough to figure out it was all about quantity of boxes sold not slamming. Everything else just naturally came based on the volume you did. True slammers wanted their numbers to look good to get promotions. Now nobody is or wants to do the volume so reps are pressured into slamming and doing plan rerates to get a Verizon Home Protect or squeeze in an ESIM and One Talk. All for show …all for accolades and it doesn’t do a thing to help those team checks because it takes a lot to slightly move the needle. Some dude down south was 67% Home Protect last month . Cmon give me a break. Surely he used a loyalty offer without offering customers a discount on their plan instead. He should be ashamed of himself.

Ok yeah Amazon has kpis what's their turn over? Also I bet they don't have like 25 points to hit or 25 different kpis to worry about. One transaction in the store = Print a quote, scan everything on the tab, scan QR with your phone, switch back to tab, scan qr for payment, hand over pta for credit card swipe, click more buttons on tab, back to the phone for button pushing and signing. Why didn't you get a home protect anon? I know there are 10 customers waiting but why aren't you setting up their device?!

Most jobs have KPIs and metrics. Amazon has KPIs at every level. Recession is coming. Try getting a job w 6pct 401k match, benefits, generous PTO, but the next generation of reps can’t handle any pressure. I am they feel pressured by an emoji and need a “safe space”.

That doesn't happen though and that's not how it works. You.dont just get sales by slamming them. They leave and quit when they are pressure into that sort of selling. Verizon needs employees more than they need drones who slam sales. Slamming only.occured on individual commissions if you're slamming now you are sucking the teets of the board.

@wcl+1ji5rw9I Everyone is missing the point on here. Verizon wants as many new people as possible so they can be molded into slamming machines without any pushback. End of story.

The pay and compensation will only attract burger flippers, but they expect Gordon Ramsay's. They really need to figure this out. It's been almost two years now.
