If my friend got severance from the layoffs this year, once they collect all of it....can they reapply at Cigna and if they got a job there, do they have to give the severance back?

Fun fact: If you come back, you retain your total years of service. For example, if you had 10 years in, received the 10 year package, and come back a year later, you get the full 10 as credit for the next layoff. Bling-bling!
@ch there are people who have returned who took the VRP package, while still getting that year of pay , some are part time. The length of time is through 2026 and possible some into 2027.

@c4 Are you new here? Don’t you realize that most of the layoffs are not thought through at all? Simply numbers on a spreadsheet to satisfy the shareholders. Adjustments are made after to correct the many mistakes made.
Hired back to Cigna and you are still getting severance, that will stop. Obtained all of your severance and then hired back, you do not give that money back.
If you’re rehired outside of the severance window, you don’t owe anything back.
