Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Am I imagining it?

Or is Office First policy being quietly ignored now…seems so many folks have reasons not to come into the office that the whole policy is not really being enforced

@ar. I couldn't imagine coming into the office just to swipe my badge and leaving again, that sounds insane but a friend does it.

My logic is it's the effort to get there I object to, if I'm in I may as well stay for the day

Perhaps people don’t really care to make the effort to be in the office, since they know their days are numbered and will likely get laid off soon

It was never executed. All bark, no bite. Why comply with a policy when there is no consequence? Once people realized that, it was game over.

It is never enforced in our area. Several come in to swipe the badge, several never come in and everyone keeps the dirty secret so they can also skate if necessary.

Leaders regularly circumvent the RTO policy and live multiple hours from the office in some cases

RTO was always intended as a layoff without the layoff.

Not imagining it. RTO is another in a long list of Verizon failures to execute on anything. From Oath, go90, hum, finance transformation, VGS, plus play, blue jeans and now failing at even the simplest task which is telling people when to show up to work and it actually happening. Pathetic and weak leadership.
