Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

for those that know but aren’t saying

if you have any knowledge about the layoffs and drink the cigna koolaide enough to lie to coworkers or withhold information - you are sc-m.

do your duty to mankind - give a coworker a text or call on the side. spread the information

you are not that important not to help your fellow woman/man.

@dv Are you not aware of how this company operates? It’s a dang mushroom farm!

At this point I can’t stand another moment of the BS I’ve been dealing with. I don’t need the benefits. I’ll take the severance and an escape from incompetence. I cannot begin to describe the amount of waste I see. I’m sick of being ignored and watching peers be let go knowing full well it’s because of the repeated poor financial decisions by the same people over and over.

As a higher-level implementation manager, there will be cuts to National, Regional, and Select IMs.

@cw obviously you have an axe to grind. Fight the right enemy. Your manager doesn’t control the decisions from above. But, they are expected to execute them. The same as you. I know 4 people, including myself, that took VRP. Not because we were ready to, but because it may have saved someone else’s job. Would you do that? I expect not. So before you start calling people sc-m, look at yourself. You’re the sc-m.

@bj HR and managers, they just want to make excuse for themselves.

If only greed is not leading everything.

But no one talk about Cigna very recent change to their employee benefits, no more paying unused PTO for some bands, those they plan to lay off in big numbers.

No one talk about all this corporate feel-good, 'lead to one' nonsense they still share after announcing layoffs, and how they avoid WARN rules so smartly.

No one talk about HIH plan to replace all US teams.

You believe it and you sell it to others. so yes, you are scrum.

@bj “ Conversations that will be delivered will be tough for everyone involved including those delivering them.”
When I got let go my manager set up a meeting and closed it with a SMILEY FACE after the initial call where they told about 75 of us we were job eliminated.
I think some managers are given test teams to layoff to get used to the process. The “manager” could not have cared less that I was being let go.
I am sure for some it IS a difficult tho.

This post shows a lack of professionally maturity. Unfortunately, tough decisions have to be made in business and leaders have to execute those decisions.

Why would anyone risk their career to give someone a heads up which ultimately wouldn’t change anything.

Conversations that will be delivered will be tough for everyone involved including those delivering them.

@af do directors have any info on layoffs? My director doesn’t seem to know what’s going on and I don’t think he’s lying or misleading.

It seems like he’s just as in the dark as us.

You need to relax pal. Calling people scrum because they’re not willing to divulge privileged info and fear for their own jobs? They owe you nothing. You want to be pi---d off? Be mad at the people at the top who made poor decisions that cost this company money.

No one at the peon level knows. It leaked out last year and they want to avoid it again which is why only directors and above are privy to the info.
