over 2000 jobs gone in India. Many of the teams were keeping the lights on after the wider cuts and now those teams are slashed. I know some will have malice regarding those employees, but they are humans and deserve sympathy like the 13k already gone from other areas. Lets hope nothing bad happens in the near future as recovery will be next to impossible and the market knows it.

My previous comments are meant only for racist Europeans/Africans/whatever_ethinicity . For others who wish love and peace, love you guys back. Everybody works for betterment of their/kids life, understand it and be humane. Spread love. If spread hatred, be ready to take it back. Thanks.
I just wanna know one thing... how do bobbleheads keep from giving themselves whiplash?
Want to apologize for being racist against Europeans alone. Since ethinicity couldnt be found from comments, being impartial, if any of the comments is from so called African Americans , Im sorry to say this but no comments for you . You are already clowns in America, dont want to hurt you more.
Sorry "Americans/Europeans" forgot something in my previous comment.
You Americans/Europeans cant say who can work in or for America. You stand on pirated land/resource. Immigrant Europeans dont have authority to say who can come to or work for US?
On a lighter note:
What is the worst virus in the world? Its not Corona, its Europeans disguised as Americans :D
Dont know why previous comment got deleted. Probably spoke the truth. Summarizing it back. Dear so called "Americans" in comment section, your forefathers are pirates. Ki-led native people, took their resources, built verizon on top of it. We Indians come to US on H1b visa legally. Unlike you pirate Europeans who came illegally. If you dont like Indians , go back to Europe. Thanks

They took er jerbs !!!
@ce about 7K FTEs
2000 out of what ?
Does anyone know how many employees Verizon has in India ?
Exactly.....
@bg
ANY company, foreign or not, making money in the US should be taxed for hiring offshore specially in cases like Verizon where the company doesn't have any business in India other than paying dollars in a country that is one of the BRICs leaders and on a mission for global de-dollarization.
@bc hi Bill Adelberger. Good to see your comment
"spot on; all of vz India should be shut down"
@ab I spoke with them this morning and a few ADs are gone, not sure about higher up yet
@bd I spoke to someone there this morning that confirmed the 2k figure and they were one of them
@bd ok, so it's a start at least
@bg we need to focus on American jobs as an American company. We shouldn’t worry about other countries until we are fixed here in America. It is America Only not America First or anything else.
@bf so every foreign company that sets up operations in the US should not hire Americans? They should only hire within their country?
@OP idc man they aren't Americans and never did anything to help. The deep accent and the utter false confidence almost all of them have is so d-mb. They need to stay in their country and help themselves. American companies should only hire American workers, every time I get someone that speaks English without an accent i try to keep them on the line because I know they know how to do their job correctly. Sc--w them and their po-p festivals.
I've talked to hundreds of our "offshore support" and less than 10% of them speak decent English clear enough to give good-effective instructions/guidance let alone care about America and their citizen's needs. They get paid by picking up the phone and letting the call run, not actually resolving any calls. Then we have no way to report them for treating out customers terribly.
it is not 2K - somewhere around ~1200 or so
@as spot on; all of vz India should be shut down
Board and executives here - thank you for working for cheap to keep our bonuses high and the dividends paid to our to our shareholders. Although offshoring jobs devastated American families and communities, we could truly care less as should you! We hope you enjoyed your time working for our wonderful company.
@ag What leaked news. The companies want that news out. Cost reduction and restructuring = layoffs
More layoffs are coming for onshore. Another 5-10k.
@as yep 1,000%
Nothing should have been outsourced to India to begin with! All these greedy US companies opening centers in India and calling them employees found a way around the outsourcing restrictions. The India locations should have been completely shutdown long before anyone in the US was RIF'D! Every H1b should also have been sent packing before a single employee was RIF'd!
So the 15k number originally reported in the media was accurate. Whoever leaked this news, was someone on the inside who was in the know.
This layoff was a.20 percent reduction in headcount. HIGE number. Think about that. That’s one out of every five employees, gone. Poof.
Any Band 5 folks impacted? Too many folks are there in that category
Are only IC roles impacted in India? I don't see any impacts across leadership, including Senior Managers and higher
