Everett purge / Boston purge

I am being let go today at 10am well I think at 10am there is a random meeting with myself and the wonderful people team and my manager set for then. I haven’t been here long , was out of the Boston office told to go to Everett for time being. Only been with company for 4 years, so I’m not too upset. The way they went about it was just unprofessional in my honest take. My grandmother died last year and I will admit I didn’t put In for bereavement right away due to I was very close to her and had to travel to California for services. They got me with failure to meet RTO because I was in fact red for that time period so I guess it’s my own fault. Just to me seems dastardly to get me for that when I’ve gotten all meets or above since I have been here. I told my manager I know it’s not his fault and he apologized but I guess that is how they are doing things now. Just be careful with your days in office or any tiny hang up they can get you on. Wish everyone good luck in finding new jobs away from here.

I worked in GP & TS at BNY. One of our co-workers put in request for family leave since his mother was scheduled for surgery and would be confined to her bed for 5-7 days. Our manager refused to approve this request and told him this was misuse of leave.

I write this to show there are both bottom feeder leadership at BNY and leadership that have no idea what they are doing.

@ha
If you claim to be a manager at BNY - which is almost assuredly a lie by you - then it is little wonder that the company is totally f- ed up beyond recognition

@ha Boomer gonna bo-m... be a disgrace again. I hope you don't have children since you obviously care about no one but yourself. I bet you're a maga too.

@ha
As has been said, you are no manager.
You are just a recycled sack of manure at BNY that is called one. You are just a failure and a para.site who can’t make it anywhere else.
You dont even sound like an adult. And you come on here to take out your failures in life. Don’t blame us. Blame your mom and dad for your deficiencies. Peter puffer.

@ft let me guess, you are an ar-e. I never said or implied it’s a manager’s job to read policies. As a prior manager, before I left that cesspool, imv when an employee reaches out to inform a manager of the death of a loved one, only a completely incompetent or inhumane manager (of which BNY is rampant with) would not extend courtesy to an employee of the bereavement policy which was updated a few years back. May your coffee always be cold and bitter.

@h0 and you ARE obviously d-mb as f because I am and have been a manager for many years. And like I said, its NOT our job to read the damn policies too you when you can read them yourselves. The problem is people like you need your hand held and a-s wiped because god for bid as an adult you did anything yourself. And you take zero accountability. When you sc--w up it’s automatically the managers fault. Grow tf up

@ft
No.. but it IS a managers job to help his/her team make the best decisions. It IS a managers job to look out for his/her people. It IS a managers job to make sure an employee who has trouble and duress gets the best accomodations a work place can give to balance the person’s life and well being.
And you obviously are not and have never been a manager. You sack of wet road apples.

I'll tell you what. I was nervous to leave. Petrified honestly. Had been in this hellhole for 15 years. I was also afraid that my skills were stagnating. I made the plunge and took a lateral salary move. Boy am I glad I did. It was rough at first, but it's amazing to not hate where you work. Get the F out people. I work four day a week from home as well. I love not commuting to JC

@ab this year the email that you missed the period comes out immediately. But you still have two weeks to backdate and enter any days you missed. The email provides instructions to submit an HR request in case there was a calculation error. Previously the email warning came a few weeks after the period ended so you would’ve had the chance to see the Below in the period and fix it.

Chalk this up as a blessing in disguise. The place is toxic. Senior management is a joke. Managers will do anything to save they own hides. You will be better off in the end.

You had two weeks to fix that issue. You could’ve put it in backdated.

Your manager failed to alert you of a ten day bereavement policy for all loved ones. Water under the bridge now but all you needed to do was submit the bereavement days and you would not have been in violation of their ridiculous RTO policy.

Good luck, you are way better off.

BNY does not care about employees. The only priority is cutting expenses to boost the stock price.

I am sorry to hear of you being impacted by an event that you had all rights to be away from work. Your manager failed to stick up for you, but in that environment it might mean they would be let go.

It’s not your fault. An employee in crisis should receive support. BNY is extremely unprofessional. This would not happen at professional firm.

You’re better off. This place has gone downhill rapidly. AI and off shoring has ki-led this place. Also “inshoring”, too- Pittsburgh has become Little Pune/ HB1 visa mecca. Yuck.
