Changes to RTO

Does anyone have reliable information on planned changes for RTO - are we going to be expected in office more days soon?

I left in Q1 last yer b/c they said full time RTO was coming.

And here we are a year later and nothing has changed.

Am glad I left b/c my manager was total ho--r, but all we had to do was su-k up to the loser, puff up his pathetic ego to Ghostbusters Marshmallow Man size, and he would cover for us, make excuses to HR, etc. Because he is an incompetent empty shell who needs us to do actual sh!t.

Bottom line (it's always about the time line, dontcha know?): Employers over a certain size in major metropolitan areas are being awarded Precious Tax Credits by State and Local Governments to get Butts-in-Seats to "revitalize" downtowns.

Hence the badge swipe. A technology which is now a monopoly owned by ONE company who SELLS the aggregated data to Fortune 2000 companies and governments.

And the more tax credits mean the more saved $$$ for shareholders that can be paid out in executive comp to the c-suite. The rich get richer and laugh all the way to bank.

They don't care at all about any of us or whether we "RTO".

They just want their f-ing tax credit!!!! Rich making themselves richer!

@b7 no swipe for the holidays was already taken away for us.

The failure for RTO was giving the oversight responsibility to the middle management team. That has failed and has become a joke. There is clearly special considerations given to some team members depending on whether the manager likes you or not. Other employees are being watched closely and warned regularly to make it look like they are ensuring compliance. It's a farce.

@me

"Who would be giddy about that?"

D-bag executives who get off in making the staff miserable.

In St. Louis I have a coworker that "does not feel safe" in the office and now he works from home permanently.

I heard from an EA a couple months ago that their boss comes in from those meetings with our executive leadership giddy because they are discussing and working details out for a 4 day per week plan followed by full RTO.

Remember a year ago around here... multiple people claiming that full-time RTO was definitely coming in 2025. What happened?

No one is now saying it's coming in 2026 either. That said, have to believe the top of the house will circle back to this at some point, if for no other reason but to boost attrition rates.

New Jersey. No changes to number of days, but I heard a reliable rumor that blackout holiday weeks (no badge swipe tracking) are being taken away for 2026.

The only change coming is the day of reckoning for the employees that still do not come to the office. The ones with ridiculous and fake excuses. Time is up soon.
