If we’re not opting in do we opt out or just leave it and not sign anything?

Them treating you like you opted out is not the same as actually opting out. Not that it will matter unless you are fired and sue.

From my understanding. I’m not in HR and forgot the language on the form cause I’ve been staring at it too long.
If you opt into getting severance. You are resigning and get your severance. Check with HR if your state (US) is able to collect unemployment. It’s a resignation.
If you opt out = you are obligated to 5 days a week in office and staying. No opp to change after your designated deadline (pending which phase you are in)
If you do nothing. It’s like an opt out. You will automatically be required to be in 5 days a week in January. No severance. No action means. I’m coming in 5 days a week
There’s an option to decline. That’s what you select if you are not opting in.
Just got the email that if you don't make a decision, it will opt you out automatically.
How I understand it is; opting out of the severance package = no response necessary and just keep working and plan to RTO in January, assuming you survive November.
