Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Still waiting on benefits email....

While waiting decided to dig a bit. Discovered pharmacy is considered critical. Humana is giving pharmacists and pharmacy techs base salary increases and lump sum payments to "offset the difference between the 2025 and 2026 total rewards benefits package". This does not bode well for the non-critical part of business. Not sure why they don't just shutter those non-critical areas and be done with it.

@ar if you are maxing out your 401k contribution at 6% or more then you won't qualify for the student loan contribution

@b3 the details I have basically say they will put 5% of the payments you make on your student loans into your 401k at the end of the year, so if you paid 12k you’d get $600. BUT all that is void if you’re already maxing out your 401k match. In order to get the student match you must be underfunding.

Is insurance benefits different than CenterWell? I see posts with lower 401k. Insurance is now. 6% match

Can everyone please share what changed for them? So sketchy it’s some big secret and even engage/yanmer comments are turned off.

The changes did not apply to every enterprise. Pharmacy changes were drastically different including a drop in 401k match to 5%, loss of 3PTO days, along with the loss of life insurance payout to 1x vs the current 2x. MOOPs got it even worse.

I honestly don’t think the changes were that bad… I mean yeah 7.5% to 6% is not ideal.

Also the added student loan 401k match doesn’t help everyone but certainly helps me offset the 1.5% decrease a little bu.

@OP So a 1.5% decrease in salary/total compensation for all. So annoying but could be much worse.

They just sent the email. Drop in 401k matching, updated medical plan designs, increased spouse/partner coverage surcharge, adjusted spending accounts, life insurance from 2x base salary to 1x base salary, LTD buy-up option…

401k match dropped from 7.5% to 6%. Not great news by any means, but at least it's not gone like some were speculating.
