PTO Changes coming

I've heard that there will be a PTO change coming since we acquired Cigna. There are too many state differences which means that some states will get more PTO than others because of the differences. Also heard they may let only those affected know. Seems shady if that's the case.

@a5 LESS? That’s BS. State law would require some kind of minimums. No reason a company couldn’t offer more than regulated. Only being able to carry over 16 hours su-ks bad enough, and you’re saying it would be less than that? This better not be true.

@e4 i second this. also, knowing the states impacted are not part of the core 5 states, puts them/us at much higher risk for future RIFs so they dont have to offer that extra PTO. target meet back.

@dw This is as much an issue for your state legislature as it is for HCSC. My guess is corporations in each state do the same thing, but I could be wrong and would be curious to know.

Yes, leaders received notice yesterday with plan to communicate to impacted employees (only) mid-October. No one is negatively impacted compared to current state, though some states are improving.

It tells you everything that we need to know that they don’t just give everyone the most favorable policy across the board. The current PTO amount and policy is so old school it’s ridiculous. It’s bad enough that The Hub and our trainings look like they were designed in 1985.

Your leaders all received an email about this today. Nobody is being negatively impacted. D-mb that they won't just bring everyone up to the state with the highest requirements if they have aspirations for a national footprint.

@OP and they get more carryover vs. 16 hrs and some states will get a front load of 80 hrs PSWD with unlimited carryover.

Confirmed. Oklahoma and Texas employees will get less PTO and PTO Carryover than other states.

Can't say anything would surprise me anymore. Interesting that most Fortune 500 and similar sized companies are able to navigate having employees in numerous/all states, and in some cases in other countries and are able to figure it out.
