Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Odds of a mega merger or CEO change at Honeywell after split?

What are the odds of a mega merger or a CEO change at Honeywell after the split?

Would Aero or Automation merge to form something big? Thinking about the accelerated timing of the split also aligning with Elliott's 1 year quiet term ending.

In such a scenario, history always had a new CEO. How likely will there be a new CEO?

Automation will get merged into JCL. Elliott has major stakes in both companies and the person in Elliott that has been making the most comments about JCL, is now on the Honeywell Board.

Within 5 seconds of being introduced to SV I clocked him. It was one amongst many factors in 2022 that made me realise it was game over for Honeywell. I left soon after.

Automation will struggle to tell a story. Why do the remaining segments belong together? They don't, and the silos that attracted Wall Street remain. VK is out a bit post-split, and the pieces slowly get sold off.

100% agree with @a4 and @a5. This is exactly how it plays out.

Agree with others. SV has driven the Technology out of Honeywell. I know him and his background. Never was part of any Technology project or Product Development. Just made messaging slides for KM. Really surprised how DC, DA and now VK, first made him and then kept him as CTO.

@b5 top leadership sets the tone man, the VP and others just follow the top... so VK and has been for quite some time on top of this corporate, he own good (if you can find any) and bad.

@as I agree-people love to bash Indian executives on here but it’s not racial as plenty of other non-Indians fit the same mold as SV, etc. It’s decades of toxic culture and I don’t see any way out except a breakup, with each of the new business owners flushing out the hopefully smaller amount of poison entering their system.

@as I am Indian and this I fully agree that SV has to go. Such a surprise he continued to stay for so long and even grow.

Enough with Indian execs. Nothing special. Suresh V is the biggest failure. No vision, no structure. Micro manager through and through. But props to him, he managed to stay.

Aerospace firm

I tend to agree with a5 and a4 - the automation is doomed, leadership will drive it to the ground. The main thing will hire for cheap, and yet we sell as premium - so there is a gap.
Either you pay cheap, and be low cost competitor or pay good salaries and deliver premium devices and services.
So I think there is more pain for automation. Current leadership is like leeches, they will not move until they su-k any ounce of blood out of it.

Aero could get bought by a bigger player, but could just as easily continue as a decent business long term.

Automation I think will be broken up all the way, with different parts going different buyers.

Aero seems like it will be just fine as a functioning business. Automation I feel like is leaderless and rudderless, which leaves it open to be further broken up.
