@11a - a significant nu8mber. On the IT floors, Indians use the Humana office more than anyone, this is not a joke.
The 100k fee is applicable to family members (e.g., wife, children under 21) of an H-1B Visa holder. Family members are required to get a H4 Visa, which has the 100k fee as well, per family member.
Should the family at any time return to their home country (e.g., vacation), Humana will need to pay 100k per family member, if the entire family wants to return to the states.
Also, there is no legal allowances for family members such as parent, uncle, aunt, sibling of an H-1B Visa holder to accompany an H-1B Visa holder to America. Those family members would need to obtain their own Visas or citizenship to come to and remain in America longterm.
Below is just one link of many on the subject matter.

What percentage of employees do we have on H1B visas? Because I bet the majority of the workers that are not American (offshore clinicians, IT), work and live outside the US. They do not hold H1B visas.
@tn That makes a lot more sense as a reason.
@kj dates have been pushed back because they didn’t have a strategy ahead of time on what to do with the work. The main emphasis was on cost savings. It was poor planning. Now they’re scrambling to figure things out.
Trump’s executive order slapping a $100,000 fee on H-1B visas is written so badly the courts will need Google Translate to figure it out. And with all the loopholes, it’s basically the NoTax-on-tips gag in legal form. At this point, he’s signing executive orders like they’re birthday cards — fast, messy, and nobody can read the handwriting.
Companies & Wall street will send their money loaded lobbyists to the WH…
I am seeing on other posts some exit dates have been pushed back, this H1-B Visa business may be why. This may have become too expensive for the Board's tastes maybe the MT is having to rethink things?
LET'S GOOOOOO
@as We’ll see. I don’t think so.
I think finally this abuse of H-1B Visas will get heavily curbed.
@ar Doubtful. They will invest in that gold cryptocurrency and bo-m... special exclusion.
whelp, there goes Humana's profits off slave labor!
