When will they provide an updated list of commutable zip codes?

@cp On some level I could have understood a 4-day in-office work week for those already in-office. On some level, because the expectation was that they were already people willing, capable, and expected to commute regularly. The RTO for HBAs is where there is no logical sense from any perspective other than a bottom line workforce reduction.
HBAs who were hired 10+ years ago, have been HBAs their entire career, are being required to come into office not just a single day a week as a "We think it would help", but FOUR DAYS a week is insulting on a fundamental level. It is clear what the goal is.
@cf that would require them to use logic. Nothing about RTO 4x week + grandfathered HBA revoked is logical. It's all meant to get us mad, get us to quit, and have us fear the little men in the new york hub. The more we out here in tempe or the midwest complain, the more they get their rocks off on the new policy. They hate us, and see us as nothing more than numbers on a spreadsheet that need to be reduced.
The fair thing to do is to delay the RTO until after highway 70 & 40 lane additions are completed to at least Wentzville. I would take screenshots from a map app every morning to show the actual drive time to the HO. Better yet, let them use their AI tools by using associates actual addresses to determine who should be required to return to the office!
@cd who knows, maybe a little gray area will be beneficial for those right on the line.
@bx it is, but this place will find a way to confuse the he-l out of everyone and make the situation way worse and stupid because muh culture ...or something
Isn't updating the zip codes and expanding the commendable range the same thing?
I thought I heard someone say that they’re not using zips anymore but rather counties. This would be a much bigger area if true. I live in Warren County and to drive to either one of the buildings would take well over an hour.
I don’t even think they are looking at them. I feel like it’s to make us think they care and are considering doing something for us but in reality they will come back saying nothing is changing or as someone said it will be expanded. I don’t think any good news will come from upper leadership ever again.
@a4 When you talk about strategy from leaders at the firm, such as ‘waiting for profit sharing to pay out at the end of February’, you assume leaders think like associates. Leaders don’t think this way at all. I spent the better part of 20 years in meetings with leaders and the only people that think this way are managers and directors. Some of them care deeply about their direct reports. The partners who used to care about associates are long gone or departing soon. They aren’t even thinking about attrition. They are looking at spreadsheets and dollar signs on reports. Worse, when associates do leave, those same partners have an assumption they can just ‘hire another one’. Everyone is replaceable.
I do see metrics starting to roll out around retaining ‘top talent’. So, someone is paying attention. But don’t get executives any credit for thinking about or caring for associates.
@b2 in those job postings.
@b0 I meant where have you seen verbiage that the policy is the same for contracted workers.
@aq check some of the staffing agencies postings (a number Indeed pulls). When they have Des Peres for location and financial firm, it’s not that hard to gather it’s for EJ.
@OP Like others have said, I think before Mid March we will know something. Would be surprised if they expanded it too. At this rate, I could see them forcing HBAs in other states to either quit or relocate to a home office city. Davey boy needs that head count even lower so he can put another notch on his belt! Gotta impress his wall street clique` at how much damage he has done to this midwestern hick company!
@ae where have you seen this?
@a2 why do you think they may not be revising them at all? Legitimate question.
@a8 I have noticed an increase in contractor job postings and that they are also expecting them to come in to the office the same amount of days as associates.
@ac I also think out of those 13k associates that include contractors 5k is HBA folks or something like that last I heard.
@a8 we have roughly 13k HO employees with roughly 4k being contractors from that 13k
@a4 I recently heard a stat that HO is 60/40 contractor to associate...if that is accurate, their plan is working.
@OP I think it will be by the end of February. I also think they will expand the commutable range.
The reason I think both of these things is: I think a good amount of HO associates are waiting for profit sharing to pay out at the end of February before looking to leave the firm. If the firm knows this, and if they share MORE bad news for HO associates with an expanded commutable range, then that could be the last straw for associates and would lead to higher attrition.
The firm is still trying to find ways to sh-t on HO associates to reduce headcount while avoiding paying severance.
@OP as a TL, my guess is late February if they revise them at all.
