When we were told that they were cutting out some of our PTO,VTO, 401K and holidays to allign to the industry standard, I asked myself why are we not LEADING the industry standard. That is how quality staff is retained and businesses grow.

I was hoping they would want to be BETTER than industry standards, and be a leader in that area
@b7 source? when will this hit?
@ay there's no desire for transparency. 10000 are about to be laid off from Centerwell.
Under "Well-being & Benefits Center on Viva Engage" someone asked if the changes included PTO and any holiday changes, the answer was to refer to go/benefitstransition to see what changes are relevant to you at this time. A non answer to the question which indates there could be or probably will be changes. Dragging out the bad news will only add to speculation and anxiety. Still looking for the transparency leadership keeps talking about.
@aq UM I believe stands for Utilization Management in this particular instance. Sometimes stands for Underwriting Margin, from finance dept. standpoint. But once again, probably the first.
@ah absolutely there was.
@ac sorry but what is UM?
There was no PTO or VTO reduction?
@ac All UM moving to CenterWell? That's a major re-org.
@OP we are shareholder run company vs not for profit, makes a difference
@a9 UM got moved from Humana to Centerwell and we lost a lot. PTO, vacation days, holidays, 401k matching, loss of 4 weeks of maternity leave, Secure Save decrease, and more.
@a7 Pacific Southwest Region. I was referring to the overall benefit changes, there has been a lot of rumors about PTO but nothing factual.
What kind of industrial standard humana is using ? Walmart.
@OP what area are you in? Mine said nothing about pto or vto reduction
Not sure what industry Humana is using a reference but I just spoke with two friends that both work at large healthplans, both stated they have not been made aware of higher benefit costs and/or reduction in benefits and do not expect any for next year.
@OP seems profits are more important than retaining quality staff.. pretty obvious with erp. And layoffs
