Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Every round of layoffs targets the people who know the systems

Lay off the people who built the place, keep the people who broke it, and then wonder why nothing gets better. U.S. Bank in a nutshell.

This is a hostile takeover via ethnonationalist discrimination (think historically about that phrase). The goal is to extract as much money from the firm as fast as possible. And it won't stop, because the elephants want the cheap labor leading to negotiating power over labor (wage) costs and the donkeys won't yield on immigration.

We are under attack by foreign powers and the government has sold us out. It's been well documented back to the early 2000s and nothing has changed.

Always talk to employment attorney if offered severance. Their fee comes out of anything they negotiate.

If you’ve kept good contemporaneous notes and other evidence, you will have leverage.

Employer really want the general release on a signed severance. Make em pay dearly for your silence.

Where is this discrimination taking place exactly?

@a7 sorry to hear. Discriminating on age in a company that worships tenure to the point where our CEO takes the time out on an all company call to congratulate employees with 30, 40 and some cases even 50+ while targeting them for layoffs is a whole another kind of stupid decisions from the m-o-r-o-n committee.

We are not a Tech company so let's not pretend play like we are one. We are a simple and straightforward bank and should operate like one.

They have laid off every employee in my workgroup mid 50s and older. Certain roles had to “reapply” for their positions (all employees in their mid 50s) and no one made the cut. There was one outlier (under 30) with one year at the bank who was randomly laid off due to attendance, so I’m sure that skewed the numbers.
It’s difficult to see age discrimination taking place in front of you and not be able to do anything about it.
