Title says it all. Are other unions having this issue or is it just our high paid inept leadership that failed us many years ago. We all know early 2000’s they sc--wed the future members .

Simply not true. The membership ratifies every contract. Don't blame union if your fellow brothers and sisters refused to walk the line. It is simple if you don't like what the company is offering vote no.

The only local that doesn’t recognize seniority for shifts. Most of the other unions have shifts assigned by seniority.

@ap if you think the $6 Saturday treatment if the only difference between the two contracts it sounds like a YOU issue, and a very uneducated union member. If you think the Saturday schedule is a high level issue and not a location issue it once again proves you are uneducated. Try going to a meeting and asking questions lol
You are aware that this is a nationwide problem, aren't you? Call up your politicians and ask them how we can give a ton of money to Israel, where they have free healthcare and free college, and yet your pols will and right wing media will call you a loser if you want that here.

That's why I dropped the union and leaving at the end of the contract..the 1 thing we needed as retirees and the union let the company sc--w us

@am Could be worse. Local 827 just says” me too” to everything CWA negotiates. Except we get a whopping $6 extra per day for scheduled Saturdays. Not time 1/2. And we are scheduled a lot of Saturdays

Its better of being on government assistance or an illegal immigrant these days when it comes to health insurance.
Hard working law abiding US citizens are paying through the nose for health insurance.
The union has done an excellent job making sure their members are covered. There is no way they could ask the company to absorb all of the soaring costs for medical.
