Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Any luck unlocking AT&T phone after transfer to personal account?

One of the first things I did after getting laid off was to request my phone contract be transferred from Oracle to a personal account. I followed the Oracle instructions and it's all good, except I have no idea how to unlock my iPhone (and neither does AT&T). Has anyone been successful in doing that? I would like the ability to use my dual Sim and possibly change provider down the road, but I have no visibility on the outstanding balance (if any)...

@ad Don't worry that even police agents will soon be replaced by AI agents at a fraction of the cost.

@br There's only 3 islands that will qualify you for that title. I recommend you buy Maui.

Should be pretty simple to port. There used to be a AT&T contact number and you have to call that number. matter of 30 mins max.

AT&T unlocked my iPhone when I cancelled (ported out) the line. One rep said they will unlock right after the line is moved or personal, but 2 others said they will do it only when the line is cancelled and f you stay with AT&T, they won't unlock till the 2-year contract period is over.

BTW, as soon as I moved the line to personal AT&T account, I lost access to "business support" and got the cr-ppy support. It was a big pain to get the iPhone unlocked. After several long calls with no progress, I called back & used a number that was still in Oracle plan, just to get to business support, and explained them the situation - 2 mins and everything was resolved!
