Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

What was the point of the town hall

Did anyone take any updates away from it? Honestly it just seemed like a meeting for the sake of it. I don't know what they were trying to achieve and why they booked it in

No more bullshi!t from these talking heads. More Q&A. Hear it more from the workers.

@b1 then come April, new reqs will be posted to backfill people they shouldn't have cut.

I hope transitioning a bunch of functions to offshore will bite them in the a-s. I give it 8 months.

Yes nothing like collaborating in the office when the people you collaborate with are in other parts of the country or India. Collaborate with teams I. The office while paying $4.39+ a gallon for gas with no raise

@am You never know, the way things are going.. " Megan Thee Stallion " could be the chief guest to motivate the 'remaining' employees.

@az Any other job market and there would be a deluge of workers leaving Fiserv... there is no way they could pull these shenanigans.

I was hoping that Takis would actually take the steps to right the ship but after today's town hall, it is clear that he doesn't intend to actually engage the workforce he has and instead wants to replace it.

Time to re-double efforts at finding a new job!!!!

Key takeaways:

  • Everything is awesome - we've turned the corner
  • Organizational changes are continuing (aka layoffs will continue)
  • You have no job security
  • No salary increases because we have to hire more execs and give them bonuses
  • America su-ks, overseas is this company's growth opportunity
  • They will replace American workers with AI (Actually Indians & Artificial intelligence)
  • No wfh unless you work in BH - rest of you, we need you in the office for your teams calls - cause that's what we do!

@ae "Make us feel like we matter." Oh I agree. But you also have people around here who think "if you don't like it here, LEAVE!" or that "layoffs are the norm" which is a non-answer. "And don’t say the merit decision was already made before your time. You are in charge now. You could change it." 10000000% this.

@ac You’re definitely right, but they should have consolidated those 20 and answered the question. I submitted a couple and they didn’t answer mine. I’m just saying they should realize that a better culture and happy/content workers will spiral up to the clients.
Make us feel like we matter. Give us your attention and answer our questions. I don’t think the last 3 ceo’s understood that they need us.
And don’t say the merit decision was already made before your time. You are in charge now. You could change it.

@ab How many of those questions were just repeating the same themes though? What if 20 of those questions were asking the same thing?

@a6 I was disappointed in the town hall and the Q&A. They received over 100 questions and only answered 6-8. And most were softballs. And she seemed pretty nervous. In the first 40 minutes I didn’t hear anything we haven’t already heard or read. I’m with the @OP, what was the point of this meeting. Stop trying to sell us on Fiserv. Just show us your capabilities. Otherwise I’m not buying it.

Most of it they treated like an investor conference. And Takis responses to Qs were disappointing. They have no intention of moving away from RTO. The “no job security” line was not welcome.

@a3 I'm a huge critic of what this company does and has been doing for years, but two things I did appreciate during this town hall. First they actually gave enough time for a Q&A session. I swear like every previous town hall they never have time to do it and usually answer some single softball question. This time they had like 20 full minutes. Secondly, despite a lot of people who may dislike her, I thought JM's questions to TG were really good and pretty much on everyone's minds. Although I did think TG weaseled his way out of some of them with his vague answers to things but certainly better answers out of his mouth compared to our previous CEO's, especially inarticulate mumbly Temu Joe Pesci.

It was definitely tone deaf and cringe worthy. being told how grateful they were that he anser3d the "tough questions". Huh? Tough? What did I miss. Disaster of a meeting
