@az same happened to us earlier this year. Highly skilled department with years of tenure, they trained some other poor souls for 2 weeks and expect them to do the job with zero handover.

@ah well just got the email. AU department working remotely in the US is officially done. The crazy part is they got 15 agents from Manila and gave them a 2 week crash course to take over our roles. We had to train for 5 months to get everything down since we HANDLE everything. Not just customer service. Disputes, investigations, working capital, integration, limitations, basic account management, sales. PayPal really gave 2 weeks to Manila agents to save a couple grand and wonder why they're doing horrible.
@aa only 32 have been informed so far.
Our Australia department working remotely from the US was axed. The ENTIRE department. The messed up thing, some of us got emails, some didn't but none of us can log into anything. They can't even get layoffs right.
@a8 I think it is and that's where the 164 number has come from
But I honestly thought we were gonna have bigger numbers of people going in ireland
Is communication for Ireland impacted employees already out via mail?
Man, the future of this company is not looking good.
I think I’m more worried about about the company value at this point because the lower it goes the more layoffs we will see.
Jesus Christ this company is helpless
Response tomorow, at least we don't have to wait very long
No1 seems to have a clue to be honest
That article said that expected redundancy to take effect from 7th to 21st Oct so by that reasoning consultation starts Monday
So maybe there are more announcements due to come this week for Ireland anyway
i'm hoping it's done. i haven't heard anything from leadership, though, and my manager was laid off...
