We never seem to have a shortage of complaints regarding RTO, so I’d like to add a potential new one to the list. I’m curious how they are actually calculating RTO, since that seems to be an ongoing issue. Does anyone know if this WiFi geolocation technology is something they are using, or considering using? I found this article and found the possibility is honestly quite terrifying.

@hq I literally just received confirmation from HR -who escalated with a technical representative- last month that they are not.

@as they are tracking personal PC's using VDIs on the bank's guest network. That is what I'm using.
@bt And yet... they weren't and still aren't using them.
@as There are other methods in place for those cases, like badge scans and surveillance software.

@a7 It's not quite as black and white as that, since they aren't also including guest networks for those who use VDI's and then personal machines on the guest network.
The communication for the mainstream has been fine, but even the average support tech/HR person has no idea what's going on with the edge cases.
There is literally an entire article available about this on the intranet. They are using your laptop's IP address and pinging the location when you're logged on to the hub network.
This has been announced and communicated constantly since this change was made in April. Idk how this is even a question at this point. Do you live under a rock?
