Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

RTO Here, but Not India?

Why do techs in India get to work from home, but we are forced to work in dreadful conditions in an American office?

"You don’t have to be in India. You just have to be a contractor. There are contractors in America who get to work remote full-time without an issue."

100%. Why? "We don't have room for all of the contractors to come to the office."

If you can take the gamble, leave, then come back as a contractor and be happy working remote.

They can pay someone there 1/18th of your salary to sit at home in their pyjamas so why would they pay you a full salary to do the same thing.

This is why you should not complain about actually having to go to a workplace

I like how the OP is talking about America and India in the same sentence, but says the American office is dreadful. I needed a good laugh.

Traffic is horrible here in India so we were told we can work remotely.

@a7 I work with them every night. They sit in Internet cafes for the WiFi with their kids running around and trains and car horns blaring through the phone! Lumen is our biggest customer and they are the worst about that. When they were still Centurylink they sent their main US DS3 guy over to train them and that is straight from him.🙄

“ Indian employees are more efficient & hard working.”

BS! Real Americans work circles around the 3rd rate hodgi mudhutters.

Oh c’mon everyone knows that the RTO goal is only to reduce the US workforce and send these jobs offshore to our cheaper international hubs of employees i, India, Czech republic, Slovakia, Mexico and Israel. They are not forced or audited to the 5x8.

Att wants USA employees to quit. We are threatened we have move to hubs with not enough parking desks or chairs. Many are harassed about a known flawed presence report as well. Once logged in we have to waste our time being spammed by clueless non employees. This is the yes guys and gals ways to save money to justify their salaries. All this results in angry customers.

Must I get started with all the bad automations we are told we have no choice to accept?
So our suits plan is accept their wisdom and decisions.

They want them to be happy because their pay is low.
