This isn’t accurate. Pretty much everyone is being moved to restricted external email for Data Loss Prevention. Many have no external email now. Some have limited external email. A few have unrestricted external email. It has nothing to do with layoffs. It is an across the board effort for security reasons.
@a7I email externally all the time, it's generally only removed after you've been informed that you're impacted.
@a6 that capability was removed a long time ago and displacements have nothing to do with it.
Try to print or send an email to an external address.
It was slow but it opened. The better test is whether you can email yourself outside the bank.
