Thread regarding ViacomCBS layoffs

I hate having to wait

Knowing layoffs are coming is destroying me mentally. It’s Saturday and I can’t relax. My mind keeps spinning about what’s next. I just wish they would get it over with so we could either focus on work or start looking for something new if we are laid off. Anything is better than being stuck in this limbo.

@d4+1k3b68f4q What makes you think they aren’t already doing that? Why do you assume? I swear some here are so judgmental and sermonic, not to mention snide and snarky.

Yeah this is really a sick form of torture! Usually it’s like 3 weeks in advance that a deadline article will come out. Potentially 8 weeks advance notice is insanity. How are we supposed to just operate business as usual?

Maybe don't wait and be proactive about brushing up that resume, updating LinkedIn and networking - especially if you feel you are at risk...cough, common sense, cough

This blog needs to update the company name. Both Viacom & CBS are archaic brands

They can just “get it over with“. Each business was just given a target and now they need to decide what they need to cut. Once they decide it will need to go through a legal review. That’s why these things take time. Yes, it su-ks but it’s the reality. Get some sleep don’t worry about things you can’t control. I am freshening up my resume and looking at openings and interviewing. I suggest everyone do the same.
