Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Rehire after layoff?

Does ford rehire after being laid off? I signed a severance agreement which mentioned a no rehire clause. Is there a time limit? Or is it a permanent ban in the system?

@cs can’t imagine why you felt the need to be nasty. Anyway, you are wrong. Exceptions have been and are made. So yes, you can accurately read and u set stand the paperwork and yet in practice, the company may in fact make and exception one day and take you back.

@n6

Why didn't he learn the 1st time? Don't surround yourself with people who don't learn from thier mistakes, but make the same mistake 3 times...

@sb personally, I emailed the LL2 that I know and asked. I'd have to ask the other person how he did it

@cg Forget severance, it doesn't even matter if you read the hiring documents because if you cite it and quote anything, you be lied to about it straight in your face. Sort of like "yeah and what are you going to do about it", get scammed, reader!

@n6 How do you get an ll6 / HR manager to sign off ? Does it start with a low level manager recomending you? --

To the others: The no-hire clause was in effect regardless if i signed the severance agreement or not

If you signed a contract that says they can’t rehire your, then they can’t rehire you. Perhaps your illiteracy (that means you can’t read) is why you were laid off.

@bg If they fire you because “your skills, abilities, and experience are not what eh company needs going forward,” apply for every job you qualify for. Once you get the profile set up, the application is a few mouse clicks. Not about deal.

Perhaps this will dig Ford a big deep legal hole when they try to explain why they fired so many non-DEI people yet still clearly need exactly their “skills, abilities, and experience.”

Need director of HR and Director of the organization to sign off. Very rare.

The layoff process explicitly indicates that you can never be hired back in any capacity. If you sign the paperwork, it is called out there in detail.

It even adds something to the effect that you can't work on Ford projects for other employers - which I think is a step too far considering many laid off will end up working for a local tier 1.

@a5

I think its time to move on. Don't waste anymore of your time.

Myself? I'll never work at Ford again and thats by choice. Left on my own accord for another position and I'll work at Walmart or become a truck driver before I go back.

@OP

Why? Don't waste your time. Why would you want to go back? Serious question. Don't say: "I need to eat, pay bills...". Immediately indicates why they might have let you go. Being unresourceful is a reason to lay someone off and thats how comments like that sound. Really...why be concerned with being retired by Ford? Do you want to keep low standards?

Maybe after 10 years , your lay off signed papers become irrelevant. Expect that the world will be different by then, maybe there will be no more Ford Motor Company. "Nothing lasts forever", they say.
@a5 , H1B is another way to say that Indians/ Pakistan and other like have flooded North America. I travel and see them as the majority now in every company. Not clear why Trump blames Mexicans...? Many issues with demographics. Soon there will be no white people , and there are also fewer Asians now.

You were probably let go because you became too expensive. They don't want you back.

Ford has had maybe 10 job openings that my education and experience fit EXACTLY, and I’ve applied for every one.
They’re rejected almost immediately.

Ford is quite happy with their H_1ß DEI hires.

btw, doesn’t seem to matter if you signed that document or not from what I’ve heard.
