No pay raises or shares for scrum masters and squad leaders?

Heard a rumor that there will be no base pay raises for scrum masters or squad leaders this year and very limited availability of shares for both regardless of grade level. Anyone hearing the same?

I can confirm this is true. I got an EP rating and no raise. Other scrum masters and squad leaders also did not get raises.

@bf will 'agile coaches' be gone also? That's alot of people

@OP if this is true perhaps they are trying to force people in those roles out or to have them proactively find another position - if Spotify model is gone by EOY they probably will do away with many of these roles. Makes me wonder what will happen to the 'agile coaches' that are many and making the big bucks - will they be gonzo too?

The buggy whip inspectors will be moved to new roles.
No merit, no shares for past PY, correct about that.
Sink or swim in their new roles where they will contribute.

The impression I am getting is that its going to be very similar to last year. If you are an EP small raise and shares is probably what you get at EOY. SPs will have another rough conversation. L6s shouldn't expect promotions and only EP 5s would have that chance.

@bh that's not the way the organization or agile orgs were meant to be. You’re showing your ignorance with how the roles within agile framework are meant to work. What's your role?

I didn't get any raise or shares last year already. Let alone this year.

Fidelity's Agile rollout over the past decade has been a joke. Getting a CSM certificate is easy. The Spotify model hasn't been used at....Spotify for years. To think some consulting company cashed in your shares selling the Spotify model is priceless!

Many squad leads are just scrum masters with a fancy title

You realize they are changing titles right? And already have done so.

Look, I’m not being inflammatory - I should rephrase, I’m not looking for someone to validate a rumor. I know this to be true. I’m seeing if and how it’s being communicated to leaders.

Yes, not a good time to be in agile roles. Abby said herself we are moving away from Spotify model. Squads and chapters will be gone by year end, retitled to teams etc.

Writing is (and has been) on the wall!

@b4 or rather it’s STILL a bad time to be in an agile role at fidelity. All talk about specific roles within the firm that are not management/leadership are all just people fishing for justification to push for certain roles to be eliminated. That was true two years ago and it’s still true today. Architect roles included.

Maybe a better take away from this and other sources on this board is that it may be a bad time to be in a full time Agile role at Fidelity?

let me get this straight. You have such a high-level source within the firm that gives you such extreme confidence. Yet you come to this stupid website and post asking random strangers to validate what you already know is true because you have such an awesome source inside. It makes absolutely no sense. last reply as this is already been a colossal waste of time. everyone is actually d-mber for reading this post.

Look, I wish were wrong - had more confirmation today that this is true. Highest performers (all top talent) may get something if their manager goes to bad for them, but come end of year I anticipate seeing posts here about how BS it is by SMs and SLs across the firm.

sounds reasonable. All squad leaders across the firm are all treated exactly the same. Seriously what are you smoking? or what is your source smoking?

@a5 I recognize your hyperbole, but I have this rumor on pretty good word from leaders with SMs directly reporting to them and they’ve been notified of no base pay raises already. I wish it weren’t true but it seems it is.

I also heard that they’re gonna deduct vacation days from them as well, make them share parking spaces and desks while in the office! - Heard this from reliable sources also heard a rumor that they’re gonna make them all sit at specific tables in the cafe. how demeaning!
