@h3 for example in Belgium a big chunk of people will be let go. It will trigger the Wet Renault (Renault Law) for collective dismissal. Which now means collective bargaining, a Social Plan for continuation of insurance and benefits and higher severance payouts. Yes, it could take a longer time, maybe until June or July. But that just means salaries will be paid to people for several months who won't have much to do other than log in and look busy...

FFS we don't hurry in Europe. Don't expect a big announcement on a particular date in the EU. It was said here before, it's on a country basis. We are a union, not a federation. Verizon though MUST notify a local labour office before layoffs above a certain threshold (number or % of laid off employees) are executed, usually at least 30 days prior.

We're almost past Q1, so there's plenty of time left until the end of Q2

The dagger might be slow and wrapped in velvet like but it is going to hurt nevertheless

You'll know when you get THE email or receive a farewell message from your former colleague

@OP I am EMEA based - I have nothing in my agenda for the rest of the afternoon and no whispers of anything happening here.

No single big EMEA announcement coming. Sanjiv already covered the overall piece. The rest will be handled locally per each country’s RIF laws.
Benelux has already shared their numbers and is sorting the workflow internally. Germany is next - there was a short delay due to works council elections, but now the WC has all the info from HR for mass layoffs and they’re working on the social plan. France is handling its internal process too.
So no single day for everyone - it’ll roll out country by country.

What’s an example of this new squeezed severance package? Only one week per year?

I'm from EMEA and there's nothing scheduled for tomorrow. At least not in my calendar. I believe there will be nothing tbh.

@c4 have heard the same, the company is looking to squeeze severance packages and reduce payouts wherever and however it can

@OP I’m hearing more coming and the severance will not be nearly as good as those given out in first Dec round (So kudos for those who got rich lucky in Dec).

Dan is here for his 60M payout during his 2yr contract to gut the place squeezing stock pop out of financial lever. No new products and services, no horizontal so if you are in one of these functions be ready.
