Thread regarding Lenovo layoffs

Where is your groups exec team traveling to this week?

Some exotic location, while other resources get cut!

I feel bad for the younger people who buy into all the corporate "Rah Rah" BS. One day you will realize it's all meaningless, and the execs could care less about you. Don't conflate work with your life. Outside of a few, most people could care less when you eventually leave.

@11v the last two here in the US have been on Wednesdays. Probably the best day of the week to ensure the useless execs are out on the road earning points and miles while accomplishing nothing.

@a2 I have “survived” a few rounds of this so far. I looked on my calendar and the notices that my teammates have been yeeted have all been on Mondays with one exception that was a Tuesday. Seems to happen at the beginning of the week, but who knows if that is a reliable metric.

If layoffs are going to happen by end of this fiscal year, people would need to be notified this week(based on 30 day period) 🤔.

@a2 Everyone I know of, the calendar invite came the night before the actual layoff took place. The meetings are 15 minutes long, so if your boss sends you an invite for 15 minutes the next day, you can start packing.

@OP has anyone received calendar invites or know what the timing might be for the next round? I find this site to be very tight-lipped. You're here amongst friends, it helps us out if we know what's going on. Share!
