Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

God!! I am not even tolerating this anymore...

It's so disheartening to see what a pathetic state we are in, where are we going, what exactly do we want to do?
There are no leaders , there are no lead by example, everyone doing bare minimum thinking they are giving their best, no enthusiasm, no excitement, going to campus is so sad, staying at home is 9 hours of continuous meeting, no output, no value adds.. such a sad state of affair...
Arrrrrgggghhhhh!!!

On our team, there seems to be an uneven standard when it comes to autonomy and ownership. Some of us are expected not to operate as individual contributors — we’re required to route everything through multiple layers of leadership before we can start, finalize, or even meaningfully progress work.

At the same time, other team members are given full freedom to move independently, socialize their work broadly, and receive recognition for their contributions. Meanwhile, the work of others is often overlooked, minimized, or credited to someone else.

I just never rely on my leader or sometimes my manager for direction and go with what my team or peers and I discuss.

However, I’m a grade 45, so it’s kind of expected for me to drive conversations and results. But I’ve always really operated in this fashion, even before grade 45, 40 (U), and 35 (L)

As long as the wrong leaders are at the top, they’ll continue to promote the wrong leaders and the cycle continues. The future at Nike is bleak.

Maybe it’s just your area but I’ve always belonged to strong teams. We plan our priorities, work the plans and have continued to move this whole time. I realize some teams have been affected a few times but know not every team has been affected.
Some individuals have struggled to move forward and sometimes that’s a personal issue and not necessarily a team issue or even an organization issue.
Just a hunch but guarantee there will be many that dislike what I say but you can keep moving forward or continue to live in the past.
Many companies have reorged with layoffs and isn't just a Nike thing. Sometimes you just have to adapt or move on.
