Its one thing to be laid off but IMO severance is a slap in face. 3 months for 9 years+ employment. For those of us over 20 years employment to get 3 months severance ...seems wrong.

i got 12 weeks for 16-17 years of service
@dh Same thing happened to. Received a job promotion, salary increase and ICP bonus a month before being laid off.
Yes, NetApp is cruel. I also didn't give them all my customers based account, will definitely pass to Pure Storage and Dell EMC. YES!!! I will let NetApp learned the hard way. Its business.
@ah yes. I got bonus ICP after being laid off
@CQ It does. I had a coworker at another company get laid off and given only 2 weeks severance as her tenure was a year. The company cited re-structure even though she had exceeded expectations reviews. I actually advised her to get a lawyer because it was a paltry sum and she was able to get 3 months severance after the lawyer was involved. The cost of the lawyer was about 1 months worth of severance, but it was still more money than she would have received. She was in the state of CA in the US by the way.
@a1 does that actually work? Particularly in the US.
I can only speak to the UK, but historically the payout has been three weeks for every year of service. I don't know if the offer of 1-week per year is a starting point and a lawer is needed to negotiate to the three week historic standard. Regardless, offering 1-week per year is a slap to every single employee. NetApp talks about a good package for employees and respecting employees, don't believe a word of it. The company is there to take advantage of you and what NetApp was.
Anyone got ICP bonus when on 2 month notice period/ garden leave? Any hopes?
What country?
I got 60 days full pay and benefits then 1 week for every year of service + remaining PTO payout. Total was 28 weeks paid.
@OP Don't sign the separation agreement right away. By law, they can't make you sign it right away. Get a lawyer to negotiate a greater severance if you can.
